1.The first thing that I would do if there is an earthquake is to take cover immediately.

I
will seek shelter under a sturdy table or desk. Stay away from outer walls, windows,
fireplaces, and hanging objects. I will apply “DROP, COVER AND HOLD ON”.I will Drop
under heavy furniture such as a table, desk, bed or any solid furniture. Cover my head
and torso to prevent being hit by falling objects. Hold on to the object that I am under so
that I can remain covered. Be prepared to move with the object until the shaking has
finished.

2. I can help if these problems arises through being prepared to secure not only myself
but also my family. To get prepared for an earthquake, we should know the risks
specific to our community and our region to help us better prepare. Everyone has a
responsibility to protect their homes and their families. Since no one can predict with
certainty when an earthquake will happen, it is important to get prepared in advance.
This involves three basic steps: First, I will find out what to do before, during, and after
an earthquake. Second, I will make a family emergency plan, so that everyone knows
what to do, and where to go in case of an emergency. Third is to get an emergency kit,
so that me and my family can be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours. Planning for an
earthquake will also help me and my family prepare for many other types of
emergencies.
