1. PURPOSE/APPLICABILITY
The purpose of this procedure is to describe the way to install the A320 ACT Trainer by Airbus and
how to connect it to the Airbus LMS.
2. PREREQUISITES.
2.1. Hardware.
The hardware must comply with the last classroom specification as per document:
“ACT_SA_LR_A380_A350_Classroom_Technical_ Specification”.
Make sure that the computer on which the ACT Trainer by Airbus will be installed has at least:
2.2. Software
The ACT Trainer by Airbus shall be installed on Windows 7 Enterprise operating system
64 bits only
Make sure that the following software are installed on the computer:
• Visual C++ 2005 available on DVD in Add-Ons folder
• Visual C++ 2008 available on DVD in Add-Ons folder
• Visual C++ 2010 available on DVD in Add-Ons folder
• Acrobat Reader Version 10 at least
From the Control panel apply the following configuration to the computer

Select Personalization
Installed antiviruses can significantly reduce ACT Trainer performances. If you have installed an
antivirus, we recommend, if possible, to de-activate your antivirus before launching the ACT Trainer
or, If not possible, add an exception to avoid scanning the root folder (C:\MTD).
Please refer to the specific documentation of your antivirus.
Trainee on the right (the laptop must be placed on the left of the additional monitor)
Instructor station
In a dual screen configuration, right click on the Desktop and Select Screen Resolution
Click on Screen 2.
Click OK
3. Installation
To avoid problems of compatibility you must first uninstall any previous version of the
A320 ACT Trainer present on the computer.

A320 ACT Trainer by Airbus
1) If not already done from a previous ACT Trainer by Airbus installation, create a folder C:\MTD
and give full rights to the Windows’s user “Users” on this folder.
2) Insert the DVD-ROM “A320 ACT Trainer by Airbus Version 1.0.0” Ref UM116471.
Run x:\ACT_Trainer\Setup.exe
Click Next
Click Next
Click Next
Click Install
Click Finish
3.2. License
Prior running the ACT Trainer you must registered the product.
3.2.1. Software License
1) From the installation media
Copy x:\MT2D.LIC to C:\Installation_Directory\Settings
If you have followed the installation procedure recommendations, the file shall be copied in
C:\MTD\A320-MT2D-V1.0.0\Settings
Click OK
If you have followed the installation procedure recommendations, the file must be copied in
C:\MTD\A320-MT2D-V1.0.0\Settings
2) Connect the dongle (Hardware key) delivered with the DVD to a free USB port.
Start ►All Programs ► Airbus ►A320 ACT Trainer by AIRBUS V1.0.0 ►STOP A320 ACT Trainer
If you have already a VLEARN server configuration available from a previous installation
you do not need to re-install the VLEARN. You can ignore this paragraph and go to the
next step.
We recommend to install one server per Aircraft type with a limit of 25 clients per server.

The address server is the IP address or the computer name of the Vlearn server installed in
Chapter 4.1 with a /Vlearn extension.
Example of address server:
- address=localhost/vlearn (If VLEARN is installed on the same computer)
- address=BLDAT53673.tls.fr.eu.airbus.corp/vlearn
- address=1.12.32.140/vlearn
If a previous version of the ACT Trainer was already installed on the computer, you have
to delete the temporary files created by the PMTool.
Launch: C:\MTD\A320-MT2D-V1.0.0\CoreApplication\PMTool\PMTool.bat
Click Login
Click Login
Enter
1- The Course ID
2- Instructor password
3- Confirm password
4- Number of trainees to monitor in the
classroom
Click OK
Browse to folder
C:\MTD\A320-MT2D-V1.0.0\TrainingSets
Click OK
Click Load
If you didn’t install the ACT Trainer in the default proposed folder, you must edit the
V_MT2D.INI file and modify the installation path for each cmd command.
If you upgrade from a previous version of the ACT Trainer this variable must already
exists. You just have to modify is value with the new installation path.
Click on New…
Click OK
If your LMS is delivered by Airbus as a Virtual Machine (SecureLMS) you can ignore this
paragraph. All the corresponding information are already set in the LMS embedded in the
Virtual machine.
2) To Start the A320 ACT Trainer from an Airbus LMS you have to create the following Training
Devices with the corresponding Command Lines:
To start ACT Trainer CFM56 Metrics:

3) Add all these Training Devices to the groups where belong the Trainee and Instructor users.
If your LMS is delivered by Airbus as a Virtual Machine (SecureLMS) you can ignore this
paragraph. All the corresponding information are already set in the LMS embedded in the
Virtual machine.
If you do not know where is the data folder of the LMS, you could found this
information in the file
C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Group\LMS_Settings\webcmi.conf
(in this example it is C:\data)
3) Create a router
Insert all the Practical Training Devices with the Insert T.Devices button
4) Add the following router to the A320 Trainee and Instructor menu.
