Demonstrate Professional Behavior Reflection

Presenting yourself in a professional and courteous manor. Treating our patients

with respect is crucial part of the appointment. Another part of professional behavior is

being able to explain things to our patient in a way they understand. And lastly, be

respectful of the space we are working in.

I talked briefly about being respectful towards patients in my journal article

review. The article talked about being open minded and non-judgmental towards our

patients in order to get them to open up and reveal shameful or embarrassing things,

whether it is about the health history or something they are currently experiencing.

I was able to present my ability to provide patient care and education in a way

that non-dental people can understand with myself evaluation. I evaluated my

professionalism, and I stated that explained things and answered any questions my

patient had. Filling out these evaluations is a good reminder to always present myself in

a professional manor.

Not only do we need to be respectful in front of the patients we treat, but we

need to be respectful of the space we are in. We may not be with our patient currently

but there is a high likelihood that someone around us is, so it is really important to

maintain professionalism while in the workplace at all times.

In conclusion, it is important to remain professional and respectful. We should be

able to engage in a pleasant conversation with our patients while maintain professional

behavior.
