PROS OF THE FRENCH CONS OF THE FRENCH
REVOLUTION
The french revolution wasn’t just good
for France, but it also was good
France’s neighbouring countries
including Germany, the US & Italy. The
french revolution benefited other
countries because it influenced them to
end the form of government being
Monarchy.
One of the positive effects of the French
revolution was benefiting the french
citizens living standards, making them
higher, not just for the higher class people,
but all citizens, whilst everyone was able to
get better paying jobs at the higher post
office.
The life for all citizens of France changed and
made it for the better after the political
revolution. It mainly was a good impact on its
people, as previously a king ruled the whole
country, meaning the citizens opinions on
everything was left out and the king, one
person made decisions for the whole 26
million other people. After the revolution, this
ended. France became a democracy, where all
citizens had the right to say something.
The french revolution (and napoleon’s
conquest) didn’t just do good its people, but
also affected the Roman empire to fall, greatly
affected the end of the Monarchy rule, which
lead to creating what we know today as
Germany and Italy.
Before the revolution occured, the french catholic
church had owned 10% of the land a certain
percentage of the tax income. Whilst the french
revolution almost demolished the catholic church, it
had a good impact on its citizens, because things
were previously not economically equal, caused by
the catholic church. This meaning that lands that were
owned by the catholic church were distributed
equally to the people, and all of a sudden new
landowners existed. The taxes were reduced,
benefiting the citizens.
REVOLUTION
When the French revolution came to an
end, about everything lost control,
because the new government was
unstable. The peasants at the time were
opposed to the people of the higher
class, and a lot of other people opposed
to the revolution were murdered.
One of the negative effects of the revolution,
was that people from the church like priests and
nuns were taken as enemies to the revolution,
and it came down to all of those people being
executed. They were taken as the biggest
enemies because the revolution was going to
destroy the catholic church and they assumed
they were opposed to it. A certain agreement
between church and Napoleon also ended due to
the occurence of the revolution.
During the french revolution, the reign of terror
created terror to the citizens, where the government
was announcing to execute anyone who was anti
revolutionary. september 1793 to july 1794 was
when around 17,000 people were executed because
they were opposed to the revolution, and another
40,000 people were executed, or they passed away
without trial. During the reign of terror, at least
300,00 people were arrested.
When the french revolution became
very aggressive, the people of
France became terrorized which led
to them fleeing the country, taking
their wealth and intelligence along
with them, which troubled and
unbalanced France’s economy for
many years.
France’s neighbouring countries were invaded
by the revolutionary armies and napoleon,
which caused those countries to remove the
legal and economic barriers which was
previously protected by nobility, clergy, guilds
and urban oligarchies.
