AN INTERPRETATION TO THE QUOTE STATED BY MUHAMMAD

HARD WORK IS NOT ENOUGH

Many people are currently suffering because of poverty, yet the powerful
acts like they noticed nothing. People tends to ignore the issue of poverty because
it does not affect them directly. Powerful individuals, and groups in society are not
affected by poverty to the same extent as the poor.
The quotation that Yunus stated addresses that the common misconception
that people in poverty are solely responsible for their situation and can escape it by
working harder. This issue regarding poverty are more likely to get ignored by
many, especially some of those who are fortunate enough to provide their own
wants, and needs. He then says that most of the time peoples’ ways of escaping the
issue about poverty is to tell the poor to work harder so they wouldn’t be poor.
Nowadays people only cares about their own goods, to the point that we
ignore the problem in regards poverty. Maybe because those who are in high
position who more likely have the ability to help the poor, remains unconcerned.
In addition to this, one of the main causes of poverty is the society itself.
They say poor only needs to work hard and make better choices in life, if they did
that things, they would not be poor. Many says that poverty is the poor peoples’
own fault. They are victims, and saying that is close to the so called ‘victim
blaming’.
“IF THE POOR WORKED HARDER, THEY WOULDN’T BE POOR” but
why do some of our farmers are still suffering from poverty? Poverty is one of the
major reasons why powerful people should help the poor. Humans who are
suffering because of poverty must still be respected, and treated nicely. They
should have been given a proper, and safe place to live in. Being poor do not
necessarily mean that they do not have basic rights.
 In conclusion, rich people must help the poor in a way that would surely
save them from dying due to lack of food. If killing is a crime then to let someone
die because of hunger is more than a crime.
