April 6, 2023
I trust that Spring Break 2023 was refreshing for all of you. A couple of weeks ago, I sent this memo
regarding our commitment to school safety being the number one priority for our students and staff. The
Lowell administration would like to inform our community of the closed campus protocol, which will begin
this Monday, April 10, 2023. Closed campus means the following:
1. Students and staff will not be permitted to enter or leave campus at any time (except if they have an
early release note from the Attendance Office or can show proof that they do not have a 7th period
class) without displaying some form of ID via card attached to a Lowell lanyard or StudentVue in
order for our security and administration to identify every individual on campus as a Lowell Cardinal
2. Students should bring their own nutritious food or snacks daily moving forward should they not
desire to purchase from the Lowell cafeteria
3. Parents, guardians, friends or relatives will not be allowed to bring food/snacks or send
DoorDash/Uber Eats/other deliveries at anytime as non-Lowell community members will not be
permitted on campus during school hours, from 8 AM to 4 PM (except if there is a pre-approved
appointment/event by administration or a staff member and volunteer clearance through SFUSD).
Security/staff/administration will not be responsible for delivering food to students at any time
4. Campus will reopen on a tiered basis (e.g., 95% attendance, passing all classes, less than 5%
tardies, no disciplinary referrals) once administration has verified 100% compliance of identification
of students and staff daily
Please note that SFUSD fully supports our plan to prioritize safety and security, and we are confident that
this will be accomplished with your support and partnership. We are also pleased to partner with
Stonestown, SFUSD, parents, students, staff, community-based organizations and other commercial
businesses within our perimeter to assist with an expedited return to reopening our campus in the near
future.
In community,
