Classifications of fires:

Extinguishing a fire:
To stop a combustion reaction one of the tree elements of the fire triangle
has to be removed.
Saturation:
Removal of the fuel and creating sufficient distance between fire, flame
and exhausting Hot smoke from the fuel source.
Smothering:
Removal of oxygen by use of a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher or a fire
blanket.
Cooling:
Removal of the heat by using a water or basic fire extinguisher.
Spread of fires:
Fires are spread by the movement or distribution of heat in four ways.
1.Radiation- heat traveling in a straight line.
2.Convection- heat and smoke rises and moves upwards, for example in a
building staircase,elevators and air-condition ducts.
3.Conduction- heat moves across a solid surface, for example true walls of
a building from one room to another.
4.Direct burning- holding a match to a piece of paper.
