Fr Dr John Rose, SJ

Publications
 Fr Dr Thomas Schwarz, SJ holds two doctorates, one in
Mathematics from the Fernuniversität, Hagen (1984) and another
in Computer Science from the University of California (1994). He
has more than 100 publications in Mathematics and Computer
Science under his name. His research interest is in distributed
systems. He is currently an Associate Professor in the
Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at
Marquette University, Minnesota, and Visiting Professor at Xavier
Institute of Engineering, Mumbai.

Jaychand Upadhyay is an Assistant Professor in the Department of

Information Technology at Xavier Institute of Engineering, Mumbai. He
is currently pursuing his PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the
Department of Information & Communication Sciences, Sophia
University, Tokyo. He completed his BE and ME in Computer
Engineering from Mumbai University, in 2005 and 2011, respectively.
His research interests include GAIT recognition, computer vision,
machine learning, and deep learning.

Nisarg Vyas is an Assistant Professor of Physics at Xavier

Institute of Engineering, Mumbai. He did his BSc in Physics from
St Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad in 2018, MSc in Physics from
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2020. He won a
research gold medal for his research work in BSc. His research
interests include Plasma Physics, Condensed Matter physics
and Physics Education. He has written a book on Astronomy in
Gujarati.

Thirumalai B. has completed his BE in Electronics and

Communication Engineering from Panimalar Engineering College,
Anna University, in 2020. He is currently pursuing a cyber security
course from St Xavier's Technical Institute, Mumbai. He is also
working as an intern at Xavier Institute of Engineering, Mumbai.

Fr Dr John Rose Santiago SJ did his BSc in Physics from St

Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad in 1986; MSc in Physics from
Loyola College, Chennai in 1994; and MS in Computer
Engineering and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara
University, California during 2012-2015. His research interests
include Power Devices and Embedded Systems. He is the
Director of Xavier Institute of Engineering and St Xavier’s
Technical Institute, Mumbai.
