Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to bring the following announcements to your attention

School Soccer League Finals Day:

The Senior School Soccer League Cup and Shield finals were held on Tuesday April 18. Dennis Hynes, FAI
Schools Soccer Coach, was present to officiate both finals and make the after match presentations. A
thrilling Shield Final needed a penalty shoot-out to separate the teams with Argentina edging Germany by
one goal in the penalty shoot-out. Alice Horan was the hero scoring the winning penalty having made a
crucial last minute save in normal time. The Cup final was won by Ireland defeating a brave Spanish side on
a 3-0 score line. Team captain Colin Greaves lifted the Cup on behalf of the victorious team. Individual
awards were also presented following the Cup Final with Ruairí Frost and Alan Neville sharing the Top
Goal Scorer award with 10 goals each. Colin Greaves and Jane Hogan were awarded the Players of the
Tournament awards. The Golden Glove award was won by Hudson Donovan. Congratulations to Ireland and
well done to all 48 players and teams that took part.
Girls Basketball: Congratulations to our girls basketball team that competed at the finals of the Marion
Keane Memorial tournament at Inagh Community Hall on Tuesday March 28. Just 4 teams remained in the
competition from the 53 teams that entered and Kilkishen girls can be very proud of their 4th place finish. A
huge thank you to Ms. Eilís Whitney and Martina O'Hagan for all their work with the girls. Well done to all
involved.

themselves in situations which could be upsetting or dangerous. The program deals with common situations
which most children will experience at some stage or other and emphasises the importance of telling a
trusted adult about any problems they have. Your child may bring home worksheets which will inform you
on the topics being covered in class. You can familiarise yourself with the content of these lessons at
