Lesson Questions

● What is the focus of your lesson? The lesson follows the TEKS, Texas state
standards, for the specific grade and class.
● What do you want the students to learn and walk away with from the overall
lesson? At the end of the lesson, the students should know the main idea of the
lesson and be able to explain it to someone who was not there. “Learning
objectives should be used to guide students as they work through the course,
and to assess their learning progress. Excellent learning objectives provide a
guide for students when reviewing materials and preparing for assessments.
Learning objectives are the most powerful if they are actionable and measurable”
(Zhou, 207).

Differentiated Instruction Questions

● What instructional strategies will be used to make sure all students are engaged
and have a high level of understanding? It is important to have several different
ways of bringing the lesson to life through oral, visual, and technological
presentations of the material. The lesson should incorporate higher level thinking
questions and an exit ticket.
● Did the instructional strategies you implemented accommodate the differences in
the students level of understanding? Yes, by implementing a variety of learning
strategies over a certain subject, the students have a greater chance of
engagement, retention, and understanding. “Everyday students walk in our
classrooms with different learning experiences. Students come to our classrooms
with different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. All classroom materials,
activities, and methods must be proportionate with a child’s level of development”
(Ssebikindu, 2019).

Struggling Student Questions

● What do you have planned for misunderstandings and intervention moments? I

would organize into small groups for students who do not fully comprehend the
lesson while those who do understand have early finisher assignments to keep
them busy. It is important to keep students busy at all times while catching up the
students who are behind.
● What student learning behaviors can I expect to see in your learning
environment? The typical restlessness and the occasional disruption that has
each has their own consequences. It is important to recognize when students are
frustrated with the lesson and to have breaks to give them time to comprehend
the material.

Prior Knowledge Questions

● What kind of background knowledge do the students need to know for this
lesson? The strategy of Scaffolding should be implemented when designing
lessons. New lessons are built upon the knowledge gained from previous lessons
which allows students to metaphorically climb the latter to success and continue
to master each topic or skill presented to them. ”Students who receive proper
scaffolding support are more likely to develop a deep understanding of the
material being taught. They also tend to have higher levels of motivation and
engagement with the learning process” (Main, 2023).

Classroom Management Questions

● Are students aware of the expectations and consequences of the classroom?

Yes, students are constantly reminded how they should behave in the classroom,
and expectations and consequences are clearly visible in the classroom.
● Did you have enough time to cover the lesson? I made sure to plan my lesson
with flexible scheduling in order to manage time efficiently and effectively.

Reflection:

A principal is not only the leader of the school but heart of it.I would approach my
teaching staff as respected, knowledgeable experts in there field. I would make sure to
let them know I am there to support them and help them feel heard. I would make time
to visit each classroom and get to know the students by name. I think it is important to
not only delegate responsibility but also have a hand in every aspect of the school.
Hiring like minded staff that has the same vision for the school and sees the importance
in a safe environment along side teaching knowledge. Teachers are caring, giving, hard
working individuals that deserve acknowledgement and recognition. One week out of
the year for teacher appreciation is not enough it should be a daily occurrence.
