ABSTRACT

This study aimed to analyze the morphological word-formation of

neologism emerged on different social media platforms, its interpretations,

and classifications. More specifically, this sought answers to the following

questions:

1. How could Monggo work as an acceptable substitute for the beef

used to make burger patties?

2. What do senior high school students assume of Monggo's taste and

aroma as a hamburger patty?

3. How Inosloban-Marawoy Integrated National High School students in Grade

12 significantly contrast the monggo burger patty with the standard burger patty?

This study utilized the descriptive research method since the researcher

wanted to explain further and adequately describe the research problem. In

this research, the situation or phenomenon as regards social media

neologisms that surfaced and propagated online were studied and analyzed

thoroughly, its word class and word formation processes were determined

along with the analysis of the communication functions that were

considerably fulfilled by the use of those neologisms. This study also

described how neologisms contribute to the dynamic power of language.

Descriptive research answers the how, what, when, and where questions. It

is because it is essential to properly understand a research problem and

investigate its existence.

FINDINGS

Findings Base on the data gathered,the following are the significant

findings of the study:

1.Monggo would work as an acceptable substitute for the beef patty if we

improved the appearance and taste of our burger patty, as well as because

of its healthy benefits. It is a fat-free food that contains 0.8 grams of fat and

is high in fiber and rich in nutrients such as minerals, iron, and dietary

fiber, which also make it a good alternative functional food.

2.Based on the responses from grade 12 senior high school students in

Inosloban Marawoy Integrated National Highschool, they assume that our

burger patty has a taste and aroma just like the traditional beef patty, and

as for the results, with an overall mean score of 3.24, students agreed that

monggo with tofu is an acceptable burger patty in terms of taste, and in

terms of aroma, students agreed with the mean score of 3.29, which means

our monggo with tofu burger patty is a suitable burger patty.

3.The inosloban Marawoy integrated national high school students have

high expectations about our burger patties, and other students who are not

familiar with our burger patties that are made from monggo with tofu have

different opinions, but despite their expectations, grade 12 senior high

school students

substantially agree that the monggo with tofu burger patty and the standard

burger patty have their own uniqueness that makes them standout, and this

can demonstrate that this alternative burger patty would be a good healthy

appetizer.
