2 BOND TIME
When choosing a double-sided tape, it’s important to consider the requirements of the
tape and how quickly you need it to stick. Rubber-based adhesives adhere immediately,
making it a common choice for applications needing quick performance. Acrylic-based
adhesives require dwell time, or time it takes for the adhesive to build up a bond.
WEIGHT/STRESS
3 The amount of weight or stress is another important factor. Consider foam tapes for
higher-weight bearing or when stress is involved. For lower-weight bearing applications,
a film or tissue tape may be more appropriate. For lightweight applications such as
envelopes, wristbands or business forms, transfer tapes can be used.
