Direction: Read the text carefully and
identify if it is using proper
mechanics. Extract the sentences
which have wrong usage of
conventions and explain why is it
incorrect.
On a warm summer night in july, we sat across from each other at our
favorite italian restaurant. The candlelight flikered on our faces, and the
arouma of garlic and tomatoes wafted through the air. We had been
dating for six Months, and I knew in my heart that i was in love. As we
siped our glasses of red wine and twirled our spaghetti around our
forks, we talked about everything and anything. It was in that moment
that I realized that love was more than just a feeling, it was the way we
laughed at each other's jokes, the way we held hands under the table,
and the way we shared our favorite food. I knew then that I wanted to
spend the rest of my life with this person, exploring new places and
trying new dishes together. Love truely was the most delicius thing on
the menu.
Incorrect sentence Explanation
Example: The sentence used incorrect
