Enron The CEO of Enron was covering up billions in debt from
the board of directors. Eventually, the SEC investigated
the company and he was sentenced to 24 years in
prison.

Worldcom The CEO of Worldcom, Bernard Ebbers, worked to cover


up the company's debt in order to deceive possible
investors. Ebbers was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Bernie Madoff Madoff created a successful investment firm using false


trading reports. When he got caught he pled guilty to 11
federal crimes. He was sentenced to 150 years in prison
along with a fine of $170 billion.

HealthSouth Richard Scrushy falsified over $2.7 billion in profits over


6 years. He was acquitted of charges related to this but
was later sentenced to almost 7 years in prison for
bribery.

The world was shocked when the SEC filed charges against Martha
Stewart for insider trading.
