Regulations and Standards
OSHA ensures employers maintain a safe and healthy work environment for
employees. Employees must meet safety standards and follow all rules and
use safety equipment. Employers must give employees safety training clearly
and in a language they understand. Different jobs call for different
regulations, a list of all OSHA standards can be found on their website.
Rights
As an employee you have the right to a safe work environment. This means
you are entitled to the following; Make complaints surrounding your safety
without consequence, training on workplace safety, use only safe machinery,
safety equipment, an OSHA inspection by request, review records of others
work related injuries as well as your own, along with others. It is against the
law for an employer to fire a worker due to a complaint made against them to
OSHA.
