Bonus Questions:

Student Engagement in Basic Calculus

This is about your reflection on your understanding of the basic calculus or the level of difficulty you
have experienced while studying this subject. Please note that I use “into calculus” as a term for
mathematical engagement in basic calculus.

Answer the following questions:

1. What do you think it means to be into calculus class? Why?

2. Think of a time when you were really into calculus or not into calculus. What happened? What
was that like for you?
3. Graph a relationship (a line, curve, or curve with turns, etc.) representing how “into” calculus
you were over the semester. Refer to the figures below as your sample.

4. Explain your graph. What happened at points of change, such as maximums/minimums,

fluctuations, and segment of stability?

Write your answer on a short-sized bond paper OR you can type it in a word format or in pdf.
Submit on or before Friday this week.
