Differences:
In terms of definition:
Manga are Japanese comic books or
graphic novels with a twist, serialised in
newspapers and magazines.
In terms of elements:
The roles of picture, word, and frame have
and created the unique characteristics of
Japanese manga. Put simply, the
complexity and drama of the story is the
reason young people are strongly attracted
to manga. As a result of reading manga and
discussing it with their peers, young
people's literacy is growing
In terms of Structures:
1.  Panels, graphics, and symbols indicate
movement and sound, tactile qualities and
emotional states of the characters
2.Graphic onomatopoeia expresses auditory
and tactile information.
3. Qualities of texture and non-linguistic
graphic symbols represent the characters’
movements. Cohn (2007) defines their
visual grammar as
“Japanese Visual Language”.  Speech
balloons develop dialogue.

5. Variation of panels in size, shape and
number creates a literacy effect of “a
grammatical block analogous to a

In terms of tradition:
Writers emphasize the importance of
continuity in Japanese cultural and artistic
traditions in the history of manga.

Their most striking resemblance is in
the way they communicate stories
through art. With the ability of the
author and illustrator to transmit stories
through imaginative illustration and
features of a comic such as a comic
panel, speech bubble, and so on. They
are mostly provided digitally, but not
exclusively so.

In terms of definition:
Doodle fiction is a literary presentation
where the author incorporates Doodle
writing and drawings and handwritten
graphics in place of traditional font, the
drawing enhances the story and adds
humorous elements. .
In terms of elements:
 It is a non-fiction writings and had a
purpose to give information and also
persuade. Unlike the other genres, Manga
has a quality of texture that represent

“Japanese Visual Language.”
Doodle In terms of Structures:
Doodle Fictions follow a novel or story book
Fiction
type of narration, unlike the Manga.
Doodle fictions show both text and pictures
in a way like articles are written.
Doodle Fiction uses a style of doodle
drawing and imitates handwriting for the
texts unlike the other genres who uses
traditional font.
In terms of tradition:
Doodle Fictions are literary presentations in
which the author uses doodle writing,
painting, and handwritten visuals instead of
regular fonts to enrich the plot or add
humourous effects. Jeff Kinney's The Diary
of a Wimpy Kid is an excellent illustration of
this.
