The tutor provided a 3-day tutoring status report for a student named Rhoniel. On day 1, the tutor introduced themselves and had Rhoniel complete a reading comprehension exercise where they noticed he struggled with pronunciation. On day 2, Rhoniel's communication skills improved and he completed another reading exercise. On day 3, Rhoniel demonstrated fully established communication skills and read a story independently with self-esteem, which helps with coping with mistakes and improving performance.

On the first day, before I start teaching the reading with comprehension, I introduce first my name and I ask him also for his demographic profile so that I have some information about him. After that, we proceed to our main agenda, which is tutoring. The adviser who handle them give us the printed copy of some short stories(English) with questionnaires, that the students must answer those correctly. Then, I noticed that Rhoniel (student) has a problem in communication skills and pronouncing certain words like “our, helpful, whose, while, etc.”. And we all know that Reading English words is an important part of language learning because it helps you develop other related skills like grammar, vocabulary, and writing. Reading allows language learners to explore topics that they love and stories that engage them. After that, Rhoniel (student) performed well on the given task.
DAY 2 (February 22, 2023/ 3:00-4:00)
On the second day, while waiting for our time to start, I feel the excitement of my student (Rhoniel) after he saw me outside their classroom. Before we proceed to new stories, we look back first what are the last stories that he read and what are his wrong answers that I need to correct. After that, we immediately move on to the next two stories. I observed that his communication skills improved like we were able to hold conversations. The student still shows low vocabulary skills but we understand that. And after explaining how the story goes, my student read and answered the questions that was given to him. Lastly, before we end our tutoring period, I give him some assignments about on what are the filipino words of 5W’s (who, what, when, where, why) and 1H(how) and he needs to memorize it for him to easily answer the questions after reading the story.
DAY 3 (March 01, 2023/ 3:30-3:4:30)
On the third day, we transfer to other room because some of the students in that section are not already finish their artworks. But there’s no problems occur that can be a hindrance to our main agenda. In that day, I noticed that his communication skills was fully established, and I was so proud to him because for your information, he is a transferee from Manila, and it’s not easy for him to adapt the new environment. And I’m glad to say that Rhoniel (student) remembered all of the techniques on how to read some sentences using punctuation marks. Because of his improvements that I noticed, I instruct him to read and understand the story, and he must do it the task in his work without my help. For him to develop his self-esteem. In addition, Self-esteem helps kids cope with mistakes. It helps kids try again, even if they fail at first. As a result, self-esteem helps kids do better at school, at home, and with friends.
