INTRODUCTION:

V: HI! My name is VINE And this is my friend CARLA! One time me and Carla asked
ourselves, “WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT SOURCES OF STRESS THAT THE OTHER
STUDENTS LIKE US ARE EXPERIENCING RIGHT NOW!?”
J: “AND IN WHAT WAY THEY CAN COPE WITH IT!” SO, HI FOLKS! LET’S TALK
ABOUT STRESS! We all know that Stress is often the result of being trapped and overwhelmed
by the problems we are facing.
V: It is inevitable, BUT we can still manage it.
J: To gather some strategies of managing it, we interviewed 8 students who are willing to share
their experiences.
V:
First, we asked about the sources of their stress. We have gathered 3 major root cause of their
stress and it is the following: ACADEMIC PERFORMANCES, FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES,
AND HEALTH CONCERNS. We also asked them to rate their level of stress that each source
brings to them. 1 as the lowest and 3 as the highest stress level.
As we can see in the ACADEMIC PERFORMANCES graph, 5 out of 8 participants rated their
stress level as 3 and 3 out of 8 participants rated it as level 2.
Here in FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES graph, we can see that 2 out of 8 participants rated their
stress level as 3, another 2 out of 8 participants rated it as 2, and 4 out of 8 participants rated it as
1.
And in HEALTH CONCERNS graph, we can observe that 4 out of 8 of the participants rated
their stress level as 1, 3 out of 8 of them rated it as level 2, and 1 participant rated it as level 3.
Thus, we can conclude that there are more students who are really stressed in the case of their
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCES compared to their HEALTH CONCERNS and FAMILY
RESPONSIBILITIES.

J:
After that, we finally asked them about the ways they do to cope up with these stresses. We have
gathered 5 notable strategies in which they often do to manage stress.
Based on the gathered data from all the respondents:
 PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ENGAGEMENT is 11.11 % which they play badminton and
ride a bike.
 MENTAL CONDITIONING is 55.56% which includes playing online games, watching
anime, singing, playing guitar, wondering outside, bonding with dogs, listening to music
playlists, venting out through writing, relaxing, and, sleeping.
 SOCIALIZATION is 16.67% in which they meet up with friends, finding companionship
with them, and talking to a trusted someone.
 EMOTIONAL VENTING is 11.11% which crying and laughing helps them relieve
stress.
and;
 SPIRITUAL CONNECTION with 5.56% in which they cope up with stress through
praying.
Hence, we can see that majority of the respondents’ strategies are more focused on mental
conditioning, some are for socialization, others resort to physical activity engagement and
emotional venting, while spiritual connection is the least they do.
V: We can manage stress by doing what our body needs. For example, exercising. Did you know
that almost any type of exercise or physical activity pumps up the production of our “feel-good”
neurotransmitters called “endorphins”?
J: Yes, it does! Endorphins, by the way, help deal with one’s stress and reduce feelings of pain.
Thus, the negative effects of stress are decreased while our mood improves and our self-
confidence increases! You can do all of these just by jogging 3 times a week, riding a bicycle,
dancing to your favorite song, doing household chores, and even just by walking! What a win-to-
win situation, right?!
V: YEAH! SO DON’T LET YOUR STRESS CONTROL YOU! LEARN TO MANAGE IT
AND BE A STRESS MANAGER LIKE US!
V&J: AND THAT’S 3 MINUTES! SEE YOUUU TOMORROW!!!
