DMT Task 3

1. Identify the period when natural increase was greatest.

1961 - 1971

2. Describe the trends in natural increase in Bangladesh between 1901 and 2018.

The natural increase in Bangladesh increased as time passed, as the death rate decreased
more rapidly compared to the decrease of the death rate.

3. Create a graph to show the changes in the birth rate and death rate for Bangladesh for the
period 1901-2018.

4. Describe the graph you've created using the STDa.

The overall slope of the graph is decreasing, which indicates a steady fall in the birth and
death rate in Bangladesh.
The overall population would have increased as the death rate decreased more rapidly
compared to the rate of birth rate decreasing. However, as time kept passes, the population
increase would have become less as the difference between the two rates decreased.

5. In a short paragraph, explain to what extent does Bangladesh follow the Demographic
Transition Model (DTM)?

Bangladesh follows the Demographic Transition Model as the death rate is overall
decreasing, and the birth rate follows its trend.
: Slow growing population

: stable population

: slow shrinking population

: shrinking population

: slow shrinking population
