BASIC RESEARCH

Vs

TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH

Basic research is actually the scientific evidence which is the base of medical detection.

Scientists have a hypothesis and test it by designing experiments and making observations to
develop theories that enlighten how the world around us works.

 Over it, we learn key information about the fundamental biological, molecular, and
chemical processes of life.
 Preclinical and animal study
 Defining mechanisms, targets and leads molecules.
 In the United States, basic research is sponsored mainly by federal government and
done mainly at universities and institutes.
 A researcher may use basic research to analyze trends.
 Roughly 76% of basic research is conducted by universities.
 The Research Council's first president, military general and professor of army
technology Karl Becker found basic research.

Translational research is the process of clinical application, where it can ultimately help
people.

Our community adopt necessary measures to support us in effective ways with the help of
researchers who gather all the essential ideas by policy makers and community practitioners.
These 3 work individually and think separately according to their traditions and perception level.
After that ideas are assembled and make a centralized idea that will be beneficial for society.TR
findings are more likely to be implemented because they matters to community and policy
makers.

 This acts as a channel between different areas of exploration, connecting their

conclusions and perspectives to each other and ultimately to the community at large.
 It links laboratory science with patients and findings with the needs of the community.
 True benefits to society.
 TR process must involve PPR (Practice Process Research) for maximum impact.
 Translational research includes features of basic and clinical research. It is most often
found at devoted university science departments and remote research centers.
 It is mostly used by translational research managers, Postdoctoral scientists, Patent
experts, Principal investigators and Physicians.
 Translational research appeared as early as in midline of 1993.

WHICH ONE IS BETTER?

Translational research is better than basic research because

translational Encourages and promotes multidisciplinary alliance among
laboratory and clinical researchers.

It is referred to as “bench to bedside” research, it incorporates numerous

stages.

Identifies and supports the adoption of best medical and health

practices.

Development of solutions to medical problems.

Translational research renovates scientific findings or discoveries from

basic laboratory into new clinical tools.

It is improving patient care and promote public health and two-way

street.

It’s a loop, a continuous cycle, with one research result inspiring another.
