Data was collected through interviews with the headmaster, class teacher, parents, and friends of the sample students. The findings show that poor financial condition, parental illiteracy and low income, and unfavorable home environments are major obstacles. The study recommends that the government provide more school funding, teachers receive more training, and curricular and extracurricular activities be made more inclusive of scheduled caste girls.
