Air pollution is the top environmental health concern in the Philippines and the third-highest risk
factor for death and disability from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) 1 (IHME 2020). Since
the health effects of air pollution have financial and economic implications as well, which are
frequently ignored in legislation, its expenses are not just local or personal, but also national.
According to 2 (Myllyvirta,2023), air pollution in the country tallies almost 64, 920 deaths adults
and 1,310 children way back in 2019. The numbers tallied are extremely alarming since the only
cause of it was only all about air pollution. Thus, there are still implications wherein it repeatedly
adds to the disastrous effect of air pollution. It includes emission of smoke from factories,
burning of woods from the forest and burning of plastic in commercial areas. Apparently, due to
the alarming number of deaths there are still ways on how we could help in decreasing the
effect of air pollution and possibly end that right now. Based on the study of the 3
(Shankar,2020), using such a smokeless stove probably consumes 40-50% less fuel. Thus, it
tends to save labor, money as well as comprehend an air-pollution free environment. Knowing
that smokeless stoves are efficient and environmentally friendly, the kalang de uling stove
design is reliable for the community.
