Name of your Prototype: Healthcare Waste (Syringe) Shredder

Identify and Discuss the Functionality of your Prototype
The capstone project we are working on is a portable type of shredder wherein it shreds
the entire syringe including its needle. Our prototype has a forward-reverse interlock where it
can work backwards that can make the syringe come out from the shredder whenever it will be
stuck. We the proponents of this capstone project decided this type of prototype to help our
health facilities to maximize their spaces in the vaults and to somehow help the environment by
reducing the making of vaults. Since it is portable, it costs less and works fast than the other
shredders that are available in the market.
Enumerate the Advantages of your Product/Service/Prototype
Since it is portable, it costs less and works fast than the other shredders that are available
in the market. It is also portable as mention due to its smaller size than the products that are
available in the market. It also has a forward-revers interlock where it can troubleshoot the
stuck needles during its process.

Enumerate the limitation of your Product/Service/Prototype

Our prototype can only shred syringe to prevent malfunction of machine. Although some
materials can be shred besides the syringe, we do not encourage to do so, so that the machine
can fully function up to the time where the materials are depreciated.
