This week at my internship I mainly focused on completing my IRB application.

Monday, I had a meeting with my supervisor to discuss the most efficient way to distribute my

survey to students across campus. She was unsure so she recommended that I speak with

institutional research to get ideas. I also told her how working in Campus Corner until 7:00

everyday has not been good for my mental health. I told her that I would like to have more

involvement and interaction with other interns and employees at the Office of Sustainability. I

was very nervous to tell her how I felt about working at Campus Corner because I didn’t want to

come off like I was complaining. Fortunately, my supervisor was very understanding. From now

on, I am still working Campus Corner, but I have some leniency on when I can leave and work in

the library or in the office. I am going to start covering campus corner in the morning 9-12 and

work in the office in the afternoon. I still have to return to Campus corner in the evening to put

all of the clothes back in the room and lock the door. This seems like a better routine for me

since I will still have some structure but will also be able to socialize with my peers and other

interns.

Wednesday, I met with my research methods professor and discussed what all I needed to

complete to turn in my IRB application. The main challenge right now is figuring out how I can

distribute my survey across campus. I called Institutional research, as recommended by my

supervisor, and they were very helpful. She advised me to meet with my supervisor again and

attempt to get my survey on Frontpage through the Office of Sustainability. This way chairman

can forward the email to professors who then can forward it to students. The Survey will be in an

email that will also include a consent form attached. In addition to getting my survey on Front

page, we will be making Instagram posts for the Office of Sustainability Instagram to advertise

the survey even more.  I am very excited and relieved now that I know the plan for the next
couple of weeks. Hopefully my survey will go out for two weeks and after that I will collect and

analyze the data in preparation for my project presentation.
