Lesson Plan #2 THMS April 6th, 7th Graded Winds.

Objective: Students will have worked on the isolation on the ending chords in Reminiscence
and balancing those chords to the dynamics on the page. Students will gain a collective
understanding of a cohesive and blended sound while isolating the ending and putting it in context
with 77-end.

Time Objective Procedure

3 Dynamic work on Concert Bb - Students will hold out


their best concert Bb
and watch the
conductor for dynamic
instruction.
- Teacher will have a
conversation on the art
of listening in an
ensemble sound.

5 Notes in Context - Students will play each


note by note starting
from 89 and conductor
will cue notes so they
know what pitches
they are playing
- Teacher will describe
an ensemble sound in
relation to the “warm
up”

10 Emphasize the Dynamics. - Students will play each


note in contect IN
TEMPO with
dynamics included with
what we worked on in
the previous section
- Allowing for more
time on this due to any
feedback or repetitions
needed.
- Keep clarinets in mind
with their minimal
playing.
