MARKETING
Marketing refers to activities a company undertakes to promote the buying or selling
of a product or service. Marketing includes advertising, selling, and delivering
products to consumers or other businesses. Some marketing is done by affiliates on
behalf of a company.

seek to get the attention of key potential audiences through advertising. Promotions
are targeted to certain audiences and may involve celebrity endorsements, catchy
phrases or slogans, memorable.

The 4 P's of Marketing:

Product, price, place, and promotion are the Four Ps of marketing. The Four Ps
collectively make up the essential mix a company needs to market a product or
service. Neil Borden popularized the idea of the marketing mix and the concept of
the Four Ps in the 1950s.
Product:-
Product refers to an item or items the business plans to offer to customers.
Sm@rtFAB, is India's first branded welded wire fabric (WWF). It is a cold-worked,
ribbed, electrically fused wire fabric, that can be used in concrete reinforcements,
leading to optimum steel usage close to actual design, thus reducing steel intensity
and leading to cost and time savings.

Price:-
Since Sm@rtFAB is first branded product targeting to reshape the construction
industry practice, it is priced based on cost model and designing model. The service
charges and raw material derives the pricing status in the marketing. Tata Steel is
following entry market pricing strategy to gain market share.

Place:-
Marketplace for Sm@rtFAB is targeting customers in Reinforcement construction
segment. Customers which have potential to de-gauge the reduce the steel
requirement on account of less load requirement, are the primary target. Another
target segment is Tunnel application for holding of rocks.

The target promotional platform being a B2B product is to approach influencers like

ABOUT THE PRODUCT IN WHICH I WORKED

Sm@rtFAB
Sm@rtFAB, is India's first branded welded wire fabric (WWF). It is a cold- worked, ribbed, electrically fused

OBSERVATIONAL STUDY
CHAPTER 3:
MY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY

It was 5th june 2022, as I clearly remember, it was announced that I had been shortlisted for the interview
process of TATA Steel. My happiness knew no bounds. Working with the TATA group has always been a
dream, as the very ethical and value emphasizing work culture of the company has always inspired me. And
so, here is an account of my internship experience with TATA Steel.
I personally, am a huge admirer of Mr. Ratan Tata. Thus, I did not want to lose this opportunity of working
with TATA Steel and was preparing to give it my best shot.

I was doing my training under Mr. Himanshu Singh and Mr. Kanishk Singh. Task was to
map the market with help of below 4 distributors:
Those distributors are:
1. Daga Trading Co.
2. KPJ Distributors
3. Vikrant Ispat Udyog
4. Krishna Business Associate
In demand mapping, details were to capture in prescribed format suggested by project
guide. I coordinated and captured details of projects and mapped Sm@rtFAB market as per
the objective.

Certain objective in formats were:

A. Number of customers per distributor/territory

B. Stock requirement at customer

C. Customer details like Name, project, segment etc.

After getting all the details I used to mail sir every other day.
OBSERVED DATA

Supportive management is the key to wholesome learning.

We were then allotted mentors and given our projects. I being a fresher was really concerned about how I
would cope up with my first project virtually. My mentor was very supportive since day 1 from being in regular
contact with me about the progress of my project and giving me timely feedback, despite his busy schedule.
The entire HR department also, amidst the crisis, have been working hard to make it a smooth internship for
all of us. Thus making the internship journey with TATA Steel a very smooth experience for me.

I saw this while working in the company.

Managing the marketing & sales operations for promoting products and accountable for achieving business
goals & increasing sales growth.
Handling customer queries for better turnaround time and customer satisfaction & identifying
prospective clients, generating business from the existing clientele to achieve business target.

SUGGESTIONS
TATA STEEL sells their Sm@rtFAB product to private companies they can also sell their product to government
to increase their sale of product and maximize the profit.

CONCLUSION
The project was completed in success and data is to be used to approach the customers for Sm@rtFAB. My
mentor was very helpful in guiding me throughout the project. He also guided me to take complete ownership
of the project. He also asked me to take ownership of the project as it will help me to mold my managerial
skills also. I was also introduced to a few other stakeholders of this project. From time to time I was provided
with the required data to work upon. I had weekly reviews which ensured I was going on the right path.
Though my mentor and other stakeholders were too busy with their official work, they always ensured that I
was also given the necessary attention whenever required.
