Reaction Paper:

I had so much fun in our historical tour! Although it was very hot. I

learned a lot about Jose Rizal’s history here in Dapitan City. July 17, 1892 at Santa

Cruz Dapitan Beach is where Rizal departed from cebu at 7 pm. They even made

statue of Rizal! Jose Rizal built Parochial School, the school is the first formal

school here in Dapitan. It teaches Roman Catholic Religion. At first glance the

school looks like a church but it isn’t. Rizal also designed the Map of Mindanao

and built by Father Francisco Sanchez at August 1892. The map was painted on the

ground which look like a long river. Jesuits built Saint James the Greater Parish

where Rizal’s secret worship place. The parish has a medieval style which caught

my attention. After that we went to Rizal Shrine where a lot of replica of Jose

Rizal’s work was displayed. Too bad we can’t cross the bridge because it was still

under construction and we couldn’t find any seat. We have games about what we

learned and we end up having 2 points while the grade 7 had 3. All in all, I rate the

tour 8/10. It was fun but the weather was eh. I thank DCS for making the tour fun

and knowledgeable.
