WEEK 1

This marks the first week of Field Study 1 and 2 and this is the
start of our first experience as pre-service teachers. We were deployed
and was introduced to our resource teacher and students. I was deployed
to Ma’am Lira G. Parreno, and has the Grade VI class. The students were
very accommodating and immediately made me feel comfortable inside
the classroom. It was told to the students that they should call me
Teacher Erika, and I found that to be heart-warming. I was there to be
observe and assist but they already called me teacher. For the first week
of observation and assistantship it was mostly classes and class activities.
For the first day of our class the kids and my resource teacher was
discussing about the subject verb agreement and the kids was
participating actively in class. Afterwards the kids had a quiz, which is a
typical routine for the class. The mode for checking their quizzes was
through round the paper method. And then during checking the students
are provided the explanation on the items that they had incorrectly
answered. This is the typical routine for the class throughout the week.
Also, a strict policy is implemented inside the classroom so that the
students are able to understand the rules and follow this well. Also, the
entire week we had an exclusive reading time with the students because
some of them are still finding it hard to read in the English subject. For
most of the times the students are reading their books and mastering
their spelling and reading skills. They were also practicing their cursive
writing by writing and writing their essays in a cursive writing. Also, during
this week, the students also did artworks and was displayed on the
bulletin board, they did a great job on the artworks and I was so proud
that they were able to produce such great artworks.
WEEK 2
For the second week of observation teaching and assistantship,
the things we had done are to maintain and keep our garden and the
cleanliness of our lawn. The garden of the students was really neat and
looks really good. The variety of plants are healthy, such as Okra, Eggplant,
and Onion Leaks. They had a well-groomed garden. For the classes, joyful
energizer was given every day. Also spelling quizzes were given everyday to
enhance the student’s vocabulary and skills in spelling and in writing. This
week the highlight of the lessons was the science subject and mainly the
systems in the body. Also, I have noticed the mode of the attendance
checking was through roll call, and are immediately asked why the persons
absent are absent.

WEEK 3
For the third week of our observation and assistantship program,
the typical things were done in the classroom. Classes, Activities and other
typical things were done. The days started off by cleaning the classroom with
the students and then proceeds on to the lawn to clean and pick some grasses
that has gotten on to the plants. And then proceeds on to the dances, Galaw
Pilipinas for their daily motivation. For the topics, English reading was
practiced before the start of the class. Afterwards video presentation of the
lesson was presented on the television screen, then proceed to the discussion
of the lesson. After the lesson was done activities would be conducted to
better help the students understand the lesson. That concludes most of the
days and things that was done through the entire week.
WEEK 4
We are required to dress as characters from books during the fourth week of
National Reading Month. We initially went to the parade in the morning. We then
returned to our rooms and let the students to read some picture books. We also
allowed them to participate in competitions like the slogan and poster-making
competitions. My cooperating teacher asked me to assist my kids with reading
English words in the afternoon. It was the most thrilling week since we parade with
outfit. We observed "READING MONTH" this week to recognize the value of reading.
The program's host claimed that reading is something that happens every day, not
just today. Everywhere we went, we read, and we took something away from it. We
made it easier for the children to remain seated and pay attention to the speaker.

Additionally, I observed that students pay close attention when the instructor
introduces a film or an energizer before class. I looked at one of the student
evaluations and saw that the offered instructions are vague and unclear, which
caused pupils to give incorrect answers. My cooperating teacher instructed me to
assign pupils an exercise on the second day of this week because she was busy at
that time. I gave them a task related to the subject they covered in Araling
Panlipunan. My cooperating teacher instructed me to assist the pupils with reading
in the afternoon.

It was a demanding week, no doubt. The students are busy getting ready for
their camping. They received instruction on how to act while they were not in
school. They must respect everyone they come into contact with at other schools.
For children like them, their experience will be one they will never forget.

Because the principal will see and assess the classroom management, my
critic and I prepared the space. Moreover, I was impressed to the strategy of the
instructor since she designated two representatives and walked to the playground
that will act as the guide for the pupils to fall in line every flag raising.
WEEK 5
We typically go to the garden before the discussion begins,
and on the fifth week, as normal from the very first week, I started
cleaning the classroom, wiping the window, and setting up the
chairs. From the first day, I made sure to arrive at school early to
prepare the space for the children' arrival. I was pleased to observe
the kids cooperating and learning. I could see on their faces how
excited and eager they were to start school and see the classroom. I
have to teach the kids in the afternoon so I can put my abilities to
use and learn how to deal with the students. I am able to supervise
the students since I am already familiar with them and am aware of
their strengths and weaknesses.

My cooperating teacher gave me the assignment to run the

class today because they had a meeting. We'll be doing a spelling
project, so I told my pupils to fetch their spelling notebooks. On the
fourth day, I calculated the students' grades and was also instructed
by my cooperating teacher to create an overall ranking of the pupils.
We were tasked with aiding in the retirement preparations as well.
We did cleaning, painting, setting up seats and tables, and
designing the stage.
WEEK 6
Today is the last day of our field study and today we had the
thanks giving celebration wherein the students brought their food
share for everyone and also their gifts for the gift giving. We were
there to play games and enjoy the last day of classes for 2022. The
kids had a fun time and was really happy during the celebration. For
the whole week, the Field Study 1 and 2 training/experience and it has
been truly a wind full of knowledge, excitement and unexpected
ventures. Upon finishing this experience, it has made me question if I
can do what my cooperating teacher both in educating and disciplining
the students in the classroom. Being in Field Study 1 and 2 also made
me realize how critical a job of a teacher truly is. What we teach them
will be their building block that will serve as their support system as
they go on with their lives and when they pursue on to a higher level
of education. As we reach the end of this experience, I have become
fund of the kids in my class, the grade VI-Parreno, these kids packed
with their different stories and life experiences has been working hard
on improving themselves through their education. Every class has
been blessed with diversity, and I enjoy the difference that each of my
students has, though there are naughty once but there are still those
who are very helpful, kind, sweet approaching and ultimately
accommodating and respectful. These kids packed with their strengths
and weakness has captured and earned my admirations’ because some
of them finds the lesson hard they still exert effort in understanding
and studying about the lesson that they find hard.
