How we make it
Erik´s Akvavit is made from Hven’s grain vodka, matured on Quercus Alba casks from USA.
After the maturation on oak, the content is divided into two parts. First part is mixed with
caraway, dill, fennel, and lime. The spirit is left to slowly extract the scent and flavor from the
botanicals. After maceration, the spirit is distilled in copper pot stills to create a clear akvavit with
a lot of character. The clear akvavit is then married with the second part of oak matured spirit.
This is done in Hven’s unique oak solera system minimum 6 months.
The color and sweetness in the akvavit come from the oak, the balance from the solera process.
Erik´s Akvavit is bottled at 40,00 %vol in the unique bottles. No color or other additives.
