Answer the following questions.

1. In your own opinion, what is the impact of water recreation to marine diversity? Why do you
think so?
In my opinion, water recreation can have both positive and negative impacts on marine diversity. On one
hand, it can provide opportunities for people to appreciate and value marine life, which can lead to
increased support for conservation efforts. On the other hand, water recreation can also disturb and
damage marine habitats, disrupt breeding and feeding patterns, and contribute to pollution and waste in
the water. Therefore, I believe that responsible and sustainable water recreation practices are essential to
minimize negative impacts on marine diversity.
2. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages experienced by people living near
and around the venues of water sports?
People living near and around the venues of water sports can experience both advantages and
disadvantages. Some advantages may include access to employment opportunities, increased tourism and
economic activity, and opportunities for recreation and leisure. However, some disadvantages may include
noise pollution, increased traffic and congestion, and potential impacts on local ecosystems and habitats.
3. Search for other water-based recreation activities. Find at least 5 water activities and classify
them according to type. (in, on, or underwater). Be able to explain how each can be enjoyable
and fun.
Snorkeling (in water): This activity involves swimming with a mask and snorkel to observe underwater

ecosystems.
Kayaking (on water): Kayaking involves paddling in a small boat or kayak on calm water. It can be a
peaceful and relaxing activity that allows people to explore and appreciate the natural environment.
Surfing (on water): Surfing involves riding waves on a surfboard. It can be a thrilling and exciting activity
that requires skill and balance.
Jet skiing (on water): Jet skiing involves riding a motorized watercraft on the water. It can be a fast-paced
and exciting activity that provides an adrenaline rush.
Scuba diving (underwater): Scuba diving involves using a breathing apparatus to explore and observe
marine life underwater. It can be an immersive and exciting way to explore the underwater world.
