Instruction for Manual Tongs

一、简介 GENERAL

吊钳按 API Spec 7K 和 SY/T5074 设计制造，供钻井起下钻时拧紧或卸开

钻杆、钻杆接箍、接头、套管或套管接箍之用工具。可通过更换扣合钳（Lug
Jaw)并变换各扣合台肩或孔眼来改变扣合尺寸。根据使用要求可选择不同扭
矩等级的吊钳。

The manual tongs are designed and manufactured in accordance with API
Spec 7K and SY/T 5074 .Which is a useful tool applied to make up and break out
drill pipes, coupling hoop of the drill pipe、joint、casings、casing hoops etc. When
raise drill tool up and fall it down. Changing lug jaws and handling shoulders or
hole can adjust the handling size of the tongs. According to the requirements of
the usage different torque's tongs can be chosen.

三、吊钳的使用 APPLICATION OF TONGS

1、 吊钳在使用前应确认吊钳的适用管径、额定扭矩，与管柱规格、上
扣或卸扣所需扭矩相适应。
Before using the manual tongs, should confirm the application handling
pipe diameter, rated torque are suited to the column specification and the torque
required for making up and breaking out.
2、吊钳钳体与吊杆销子连接，钳体通过吊杆上端吊杆悬于井架上，调
整平衡头和可调方头螺钉，使钳体成水平状态，待钳口套住管件、扣合器与
扣合钳扣合后，拉紧系于尾椿的钢绳即可拧紧或卸开丝扣。
Tong body is connected with joint pin on the boom and hangs over the
well rigs through the balance head and adjustable square head screw. The pipe
threads could be tightened or removed as soon as the steel wire rope which is
fastened on the tongs line pin has been pulled firmly after the latch and the lug
jaw have been looped and the pipes have been held by the tongs head.
四、注意事项 NOTE
1、吊钳在使用中严禁超过额定载荷，吊钳按 API Spec 7K 要求设计制造，
最低使用温度不得低于-20℃（特殊要求除外），使用时，温度低于-20℃，则应
立即停止使用；

 The manual tongs are strictly prohibited to be used in overloaded, and are
designed as per API Spec 7K, the minimum service temperature is -20℃. When
the temperature is lower than -20℃, should instantly stop using the manual tong.
2、吊钳悬挂应成水平位置；
The hanging status of the tongs should be adjusted in horizontal level;
3、悬置的吊钳不得摆动，当吊钳从管子取出之后，应当移至井架角并固紧
于井架的小钩上；
When the tongs has been taken off from the drill pipe, it should be brought
to the corner the rig and fixed a small hook on the rig to avoid tong's swaying;
4、当旋开或拧紧管子时，操作人员应特别注意，不应站在钳柄转动的半径
范围内，以免发生危险；
The operator should be careful not staying within the level's operational
radius during the fastening or removing of the pipes in order to avoid dangerous
accident;
5、为避免吊钳卡住手指等现象，把扣合器向扣合钳扣合或拉开时，应用一
手握住钳柄手把；
In order to avoid the fingers to be gripped by the tongs, the operator should
hold on the level while he is closing or opening the latch for holding of the
coupler;
6、工作时应选择能与扣合管子直径相符的一种扣合钳，且在钳口与管子间
不得置入铁块、绳子等物，以免引起吊钳破裂，招致不应有的事故.
It is advisable to select the lug jaw with head size coincide with the size of
the pipes. It is strictly forbidden to put iron piece or ropes etc. in between the pipe
and the tong head in order to avoid unexcitable accidents, such as broken of the
tongs;
7、 吊钳经一段时间使用后若需要修复，修复后的产品必须按 API Spec 7K
标准作全面检查，否则不应投入使用.
Once the tongs need to be repaired after a period of using, the repaired

tong should be fully inspected according to the standard of API Spec 7K,
otherwise it is not allowed to be used.
五、维护保养 MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
1、吊钳每天使用后，应进行冲洗，以保持其清洁；对各个连
接和传动部位加注润滑油脂
The manual tong should be washed and kept clean after being
used every day.Grease all connections and transmission parts.
2、吊钳在不连续使用的情况下，加工部位应涂防锈油脂；
If the manual tong will not be used for a period of time, the processed
surface should be coated by anti-rust grease.
3、在使用过程中应每天进行检查，检查内容包括：有无裂纹；各零件有
无过度磨损；零部件是否齐全。如发现变形、裂纹或过度磨损的零部件，应
及时送具有装配、检验能力的部门按标准做检查、维护、鉴定；
In the use of the process should be checked every day， check the contents
include：whether the crack；whether the excessive wear and tear parts； all parts
are complete。 Such as the discovery of deformation，cracks or excessive wear
and tear of the parts， should be promptly sent with the assembly，testing capacity
of the departments according to the standard for inspection ， maintenance ，
identification
4、每口井钻井作业结束后，应卸下吊钳清洗干净，并作拆卸检查，吊钳
的所有零件作无损探伤检查，不得有裂纹；如发现裂纹和过度磨损的零件及
时修理或更换，否则停止使用。
After every drilling, the manual tong should be washed and kept clean,
disassembled and checked as follow, all parts should be conducted non-damage
inspection and should be no crack. If there are cracks or worn out parts, should
repair or replace them in time, otherwise should stop using.
