For some people, a well-balanced diet has been part of their lives and we all know the fact

that
healthy diet throughout life promotes good health condition and serves a foundation in taking care of
ourselves. A balanced diet can be attained if a person is disciplined and knowledgeable enough on how
he or she will practice that healthy diet routine. Having a diet plan is really important as it keeps our
body healthy and function in a well manner. Personally, I do not engage myself in a diet plan even
though I know that it would be beneficial for me. However, after I have watched the video, it appears to
me that involving ourselves in a balanced diet is essential in achieving a healthy lifestyle.

The video gave us an overview about how meat and plant-based diet works, how do they
different with each other, and which one is more effective. After watching the video, I’ve learned that
way back before, most of men and other body builders preferred in considering meat-based diet. They
believed and claimed that meat helped them in losing weight, prevented them from getting diseases,
improved their moods, and control their blood sugar levels. This had been a popular topic before
because there are several reviews stating that eating meat was the one that helps them achieving the
body that they want. On the other hand, as time passed by, people realized that even though meat-
based diet is effective, it has also downsides. A good example of that is the one that was presented on
the documentary. His name is James and he’s part of the UFC. After having an injury, he searched for
alternative ways in order to achieve a fast recovery and from there, he discovered the plant-based diet.
Plant-based diet appears to be more effective and efficient as it provides several benefits to our body.
Moreover, there a lot of studies that proved the plant-based diet as the healthiest approach to eating,
and its benefits extend way beyond weight loss. Aside from that, many evidence from people who are
engaging their selves in this kind of diet plan stated that they are more favorable with plant-based diet
because it offers a lot of health benefits.

For my final thought, I reflected on the eating routine that I always do. As a working student,
most of the time when I am taking my break, I usually took meal dishes and it made me realized that I
must refrain from doing that. I should switch into eating plant-based diet because it can help me in
being more productive at work and school, knowing the fact that I am in the industry where it is really
draining. So, from now on, as much as I can, I will eat more fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts, and
other plant-based milk. I believe that by doing this, I can gradually lessen my intakes for meats and dairy
products.
