How to Create a Simple French Braid

The French braid is an elegant hairstyle that can be used for any occasion, whether
casual or formal. While the braid’s intricacy can make it look intimidating, a little bit of
time and effort can help any beginner complete this hairstyle. Once you have the simple
French braid mastered, you can use it to accent nearly any basic style, or even create
your own!

Directions
1.) Brush your hair until it is smooth and untangled.
2.) Brush your hair backwards.
3.) Pick up a small section of hair from the front of your
head, using your thumbs as a guide.
4.) Split this hair into three strands.
5.) Cross the rightmost strand of hair over the middle strand.
6.) Cross the leftmost strand of hair over the middle strand. 3 Beginning Strands
7.) Pick up a small section of hair from the right side of your head and combine it
with the rightmost strand.
8.) Cross the rightmost strand of hair over the middle strand.
9.) Pick up a small section of hair from the left side of your head and
combine it with the leftmost strand.
10.) Cross the leftmost strand of hair over the middle strand.
11.) Repeat steps 7-11 until all hair is added into the braid.
12.) Do a regular braid (as described in steps 5-6) until
