1 Do you think people cry more or less as they grow older? Why do you think this is the case? Do you
see this as being a good or bad thing?
I think people cry more as they grow older because the become more sensitive and they miss some
relatives who could have died. I see this as being a normal thing because it comes with the aeging.
I consider that crying can be used to manipulate people when a couple is arguing and one of then start
crying in order to get some advantage.
• at a wedding?
• at a funeral?
I think that it is culturally acceptable to cry in both situations because these situations are emotional
situations. When a couple is getting married, they relatives usually remember when they were children
and they felt overwhelmed for thoses feelings and I think that someting similae happens when a relative
or someone close die.
I have cried at the end of a sad film becuase it was too sad for me.
I have alreaady cried while listening to music. It happened because I had some personal problems and
music made me remembered them.
• at a sports event?
Of course! I have cried when Peru clasified to the world cup! It was amazing.
5 Do you think crying makes people feel better? How? In what situations would you encourage someone
to cry?
I think that sometimes crying makes people feel better because it lets you get rid of some emotions that
you have inside. I would encourage someone to cry when there have been an argue.
6 Imagine you are on a crowded bus in your country and an adult is crying. How would people feel
(embarrassed, sympathetic, impatient?) and how would they react?
I think it depends on different aspects. I consider that if I have a good day and someone is crying, I will
ask they what had happend and If there is something I could do in order to help them. However, if I had
a bad day, I will not say nothing.
