Good Day! Class, This week we will learn Noting Significant Details and its types.
Noting Details
is a reading comprehension skill that involves looking for important and specific details from a text or
selection.
Types of Text
1. Narrative Text – includes any type of writing that relates a series of events and includes both Fiction
and Non-Fiction.
Fiction – novels, short stories
Non-Fiction – journals, biographies
3. Procedural Text- tells the procedure or steps on how to do something or how to get somewhere.
Parts of a procedural text
Title – goal or outcome
Materials / Ingredients – things we need / to complete the activity.
Series of steps – the things we need to do.
Conclusion – short statement outlining what the final product should look like.
4. Enumerative Text- presents a list of related information, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be in order,
unlike in a procedural text.
