and Non-Fiction.
 Fiction – novels, short stories
 Non-Fiction – journals, biographies

2. Informational Text- gives information about a topic.

 Details to note:
 Classification / Introduction – where the topic is introduced.
 Description – the sequence of related statements about the topic.
 Conclusion – the ending of the text.

3. Procedural Text- tells the procedure or steps on how to do something or how to get somewhere.
 Parts of a procedural text
 Title – goal or outcome
 Materials / Ingredients – things we need / to complete the activity.
 Series of steps – the things we need to do.
 Conclusion – short statement outlining what the final product should look like.

4. Enumerative Text- presents a list of related information, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be in order,
unlike in a procedural text.

Let us read a text.

I have often understood why I am always the victim of mosquito bites. At night I either wear a house dress or a
night gown. My brother who wears short pants and a sleeveless undershirt never shows the marks of mosquito bites.
Then one day I came across a news article. It said: Some people attract twice as many mosquitoes as others do.
Experts who have studied them say that mosquitoes go for dark skinned, warm skinned, and healthy people in dark
clothing. Clearly then, to avoid bites we should dress in light colored clothing, bathe frequently, be quiet, and avoid the
use of perfume.
