Root: the most basic form of a word to which other parts, such as affixes
can be added
Suffix: a letter or group of letters added at the end of a word to form a
new word
Prefix: a letter or group of letters added at the beginning of a word to
form a new word

A word family is a set of words based on one root, e.g. word , wordy, to rewod
