1. INTRODUCTION
Type & Design
 This is a Customized Specification for NAFFCO European Type B Ambulance was design to current
requirements EN 1789:2007+A2:2020
 This ambulance is designed to operate in tropical zones at high temperatures and in a salt-laden,
high humidity atmosphere.
 It is also designed to provide ease of operation, safety, reliability, and accessibility for repair and
maintenance.

Quality Management
Our Quality System procedures, for all processes, conform to the requirements of ISO 9001 and AS
9100 standards. Our Quality Management System (QMS) is certified by DQS.

3. BODYWORKS

Floor
Ambulance Flooring is isolated with polyurethane foam material then covered with marine-grade
plywood and heavy-duty vinyl. Vinyl is anti-slip, anti-static, and liquid-proof characteristics.

Insulation
The entire ambulance body, sides, and roof of the patient compartment fully isolated by insulating
material to enhance the cabinet environment, sound (noise), and air-conditioning criteria.

Interior Finishing
Ambulance interior is made of moulded glass-
fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) panels with
constant thickness and uniform manner
throughout the artefact, in white finish.

Bulkhead
A partition wall between driver and patient compartment made of glass-fibre reinforce plastic (GRP)
white finish. One window fitted on bulkhead to allow a direct visual contact with driver and secured
against self-opening, full cover with frosty sticker

Medical Cabinet
- Front Medical Cabinet (Bulkhead-mounted):
 Centre section has four lockable drawers made of InteCel and ABS material.
 Kerb side section has 3 lockable drawers and a provision for a drawer type fridge.
 Work table with waterproof lamination.
 Three large drawers are fitted at front street-side.

- Upper Cabinet (Upper Section of Street-Side Wall and Kerbside Wall)


 Upper Street-Side Cabinet consist of four lockable compartments made of GRP
materials and Polycarbonate sheet.
 Upper Kerbside Cabinet consist of three lockable compartments made of GRP materials
and Polycarbonate sheet.

- Built-in wall shelves provided on street-side.

- Provision for stair chair integrated on rear door.

Oxygen Cabinet
A glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) Oxygen Cabinet is integrated to
wall located at rear street-side to accommodate two 48 ft³ oxygen
cylinders. Access window fitted on cabinet door to ease access the
oxygen knob.

EMSP Seat
A rear-facing emergency medical services provider (EMSP)/Attendant Seat
ergonomically correct seat back, minimise neck and back injuries with the
extra headrest. Features below:

Two flip-up foldable Attendant Seat, ergonomically correct seat back, minimise neck and back injuries
with the extra headrest. Features below:

Windows
Windows (if available) will provide with ‘frosty-effect sticker’ for privacy in the patient compartment.

Waste and Sharps Disposal


A plastic container for sharps disposal and waste bin for general/ non-
hazardous disposal provided in the patient compartment.

Handrails/Handholds
Ceiling grab rails will provide, and grab handle on rear and side entrances.

Intravenous Holder
Two IV Hooks provided on ceiling above patient.

4. OXYGEN SYSTEM
The oxygen system consists of below items:

 Two (2) x 48 CFT capacity oxygen cylinder, each cylinder provided with sensor type
regulator
 Heavy-duty quick strap cylinder system to be provided.
 Two (2) x quick coupling British standard oxygen outlets located in the action area,
each outlet provided with flowmeter, humidifier and mask.
 Oxygen tubing with connection from pressure regulator to outlet.

All circuits are wired with high temperature resistant PVC insulated thin wall Automotive Cables with
Electrolytic grade bare annealed bunched Copper Conductors are insulated with a PVC compound
(FLRY-B cables as per DIN 72551 Part 6 for temperature range from -40 °C to 105 °C).

In addition to the standard electrical system of the vehicle in accordance with international and local
traffic regulations, the following are part of the conversion:

12 V Systems
All circuits are wired with high temperature resistant PVC insulated thin wall automotive cables with
electrolytic grade bare annealed bunched Copper conductors are insulated with a PVC compound
(FLRY-B cables for extreme temperatures.

Audible Warning/PA system


Electronic Siren with Amplifier and electromagnetic Speakers.

Light-Bar
One LED Light-Bar (Red / Blue), mounted on the cabin roof at the front.

Scene Lights
Six LED Clear Scene Lamps mounted at the upper-level body corners – two on each side and two at
rear

 Warning Lamps mounted at the upper-level arranged as below:
 Three RED Warning lamps, one mounted at the upper level on right side- front part,
one at the upper level on left side- rear part, and one mounted at the back - right
part.
 Three BLUE warning lamps, one mounted at the upper level on left side- front part,
one mounted at the upper-level right side- rear part, and one mounted at the back-
left part.
 Two warning lights on the front grill

Interior Lights

Air Conditioning automatic in-patient compartment

Completely separate A/C system for the rear compartment consists of

 Two Sockets stamped brass with injection moulded nylon and ABS body
each with 12 V, 15 A for charging medical equipment.

 Two Double 230 ± 10 V Sockets for charging.

 On the left-hand side, just next to the driver’s door, there is a 230 V type
mains socket for connecting the ambulance to the 230 V mains supply:
 15/20A AC.
 The Super Auto Eject plug ejects from the receptacle and away from
vehicle which eliminates cord hazards
 Sequences energizing of the Auto Eject which eliminates terminal arcing when
connecting and disconnecting to the receptacle
 After ejection a weatherproof cover snaps into position over the inlet
 A weatherproof back enclosure with a watertight cable fitting protects the
mechanism from road contamination
 Pre-wired with a 3’ AC cord and an eject sense wire.

 When the ambulance is connected through this socket:


 The auxiliary battery is charged through the built-in battery charger.
 The engine battery is charged once the auxiliary battery is half charged
 The interior 230 V sockets are powered.
 The refrigerator is powered (optional).

Control Panels and System


 All Electrical Controls are arranged into two ergonomically designed control
Panels as below:
- 4.3” located in action-area at the patient cabin.
- Switch Panel at the driver cabin.

Electronic inverter /charger

- Supply and installation of power Inverter 12V to 220V


- Offers maximum independence in terms of power supply.
- A smart combination of premium sine wave inverter and
automatic battery charger, it monitors the mains power input
and responds to each situation accordingly – either
supplementing the external power supply or, if not needed,
charging the vehicle battery.

8. MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
Two ABC dry chemical powder (DCP) minimum 2 kg (5 lb.) unit Fire Extinguisher, in a
quick-release bracket. One mounted in the driver/cab compartment or in the body
reachable from outside the vehicle and one in the patient compartment. (NAFFCO).

‘No Smoking’, ‘Fasten Seat Belt’ and ‘Mind Your Head’ signs are provided in clearly
visible areas inside the ambulance.

At the delivery the vehicle is equipped with the following documents:

Tests
All acceptance tests are conducted at our factory works prior to delivery.

Quality Control
Our quality system procedures, for all processes, conform to the requirements of ISO 9001 and AS
9100 standards. Our quality management system is approved by DQS Inc.

Important Notes:
1. NAFFCO reserves the right to introduce minor changes to improve operational and performance
related aspects of the vehicle and if also necessary to supply equivalent equipment/components if
they should become unavailable or obsolete.
2. Pictures and unit locations if any are presented based on similar vehicle for reference purpose only.
Actual units may differ.
3. All Oxygen Cylinders / tanks will be shipped empty.
4. Client supplied equipment if any should be supplied with suitable bracket / mounting / fastener,
related accessories as applicable.
5. Only provision space will be provided for the client supplied Equipment if any whichever that can
be accommodated in the vehicle.
