A. Patintero
A very popular game throughout the Philippines. The goal of this game is to successfully
cross the lines from the first square to the fourth without being tapped or touched by the
opponent.
1. Playing Area

2. Procedure
a. There are two teams playing this game, one team acts as the passer while the other team acts
as the defense,
b. The attackers (offense or passers) must try to cross the first line and reach the last square and
return back to the first square without being tapped.
c. Four (4) defenders go from right to left and one (1) defender goes forward and backward
d. Defensive players may only move with their feet along the line they are assigned to without
stepping into the space.
e. Attackers must not go out of line on the sides.
f. If one attacker gets caught/tapped. The teams will switch. The defenders will be attackers and
attackers will become defenders.
g. Before the game starts the first line defender will touch the hand of the attacker to officially
start the game.
h. The team that reach last square back to the first square (home) will shout “BALAY!” and gets
the point.
j. The game is raise to 5 points to be considered winner.
B. Kadang sa Bayan
This indigenous Filipino outdoor game is also known as tiyakad it is played by children
and adults. The term kadang translates to simple game and the game goes by its name as a basic
racing game.

2. Procedure
a. There are two teams playing this game.
b. Three (3) team members will be on the wooden stilt, with each player holding the rope.
c. Each player on the woo den stilt will race from the starting line going around the chair and
going back to the starting line to switch players who will be on the stilt.
d. The first to finish with all the players done will be the winner.
e. If one team doesn’t have enough players, some of the players will repeat to complete the set.
f. If one falls in the middle of the race they may continue the race without going back to the
starting line.
