    IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information that Her Excellency the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago acting on the advice
    of the Prime Minister, in accordance with the provisions of section 40(2)(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has
    appointed MR. RICHIE SOOKHAI as a Senator with effect from 17th January, 2023.

    DECLARATION OF A VACANT SEAT IN THE SENATE

    IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information that Her Excellency, the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, acting in
    accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister, in exercise of the power vested in her, by section 43 (2)(e) of the Constitution of the
    Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has declared the seat of Senator the Honourable CHRISTINE KANGALOO in the Senate of Trinidad and
    Tobago to be vacant, with effect from 17th January, 2023.
