G11 Project 1 Criteria Sheet

Project type/format: Research Paper


 It should be between 2,500 and 3,000 words.
Project due date: January 7th, 2023
 Turning in your paper late will result in points deduction from your grade.
 Extreme tardiness will result in a greater loss of points.
Sources and references: They must be properly listed on your project.
 Make sure to list actual webpage addresses. “Yahoo.com” and “Google.com” are NOT sources.
 List the actual webpages from those sites. Example: www.encarta.com/egypt/history/27asp/.
 Also, listing “Encarta” or “Wikipedia” is not enough. List the actual web pages from those sites.
Example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_famous business leaders.
 Bloomberg, Investopodia, Moneyterms, Wordnetweb, Wall Street Journal and Forbes are good sources
for business research.
Note: Your project will be evaluated on content, format, organization, language and creativity.

Project Topic: Your project is about a country facing a scarcity problem:


 Pick one of the SCARCITY problems listed below:
1. Water scarcity (in China, India, Iran, Bahrain, Yemen, Qatar, Sudan, Venezuela, Algeria, Morocco,
South Asia.)
2. Electricity and energy scarcity (in Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Uganda, India, Lebanon.)
3. Land scarcity (in Rwanda, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Japan.)
4. Fuel scarcity (in Nigeria, Lagos, Abuja.)

Your research should cover:


1. Brief description of the country (Area, population, population density, literacy rate, poverty….)
2. Definition of scarcity, and in particular the scarcity chosen (ex: Water scarcity)
3. Reasons behind this scarcity.
4. Effects of this scarcity on the country.
5. Waste of the resource.
6. Ways to cope with the scarcity, and the role of the government.
7. Recommendations for managing this scarcity.
