Grade 9

Dear Students,
As we proceed towards our final term of the Academic year 2021-2022, we have for you
another set of exciting and interesting projects to explore and learn.

Collect as much information, pictures as possible on the topics given to complete each
project. Read the general instructions carefully, compile and complete all projects by 10th
January 2022.

General Instructions
1. Read the projects given below carefully and thoroughly
2. Choose ONE topic from each subject.
3. Plan and prepare your projects according to the steps given.
4. Write the final draft of your project on white A4 sheet/ ruled white A4 sheet. Refrain
from using coloured A4 sheets.
5. Mention the page number on the bottom right corner of each page.
6. Arrange your pages sequentially and either staple or tie them with a thread
7. Keep your project simple and do not use any artificial items like stars or stickers.
8. Use illustrations or self drawn diagrams wherever possible.
9. Use black sketch pens or markers to prepare the cover page.
10. Cover page of every project must include the following details:

 Roll number
 Subject name

PROJECTS

English Language
Make an oral presentation for about two minutes, which will be followed by a discussion on
the subject with the examiners, for about three minutes. Choose any of the following subjects
for your presentation:
 Narrate the most exciting experience of your life.
 Provide a description of a recipe that you cooked/baked/liked most.
 Share your ideas and convince others on how to bring a natural touch to your
home/room.
 Give directions on how to operate a washing machine.
 Express an opinion on reading Shakespeare at School level.
 Relate a memorable event from your School days.

English Literature
Choose any one of the following topics and present your analysis within 400 words. Support
your analysis with a list of bibliography.
1. Compare and contrast the two male characters of the story” Hearts and Hands” by O
Henry.
2. Do you think Shylock is a good father? Analyse the character with reference to Act 1, 2
by using suitable quotes from the text.
3. In an interview, Timothy Kinney, son of James Patrick Kinney said about his father: “The
search for truth. He always sought the truth, whether it was a popular truth or an
unpopular truth.”
How relevant is this quote to the poem The Cold Within. Write your views based on your
reading and understanding of the poem. You may refer to the interview to know more

Mathematics

Choose any one of the following topics and prepare a project report according to your
analysis.

1. To use flat cutouts to form cube or cuboid to obtain formulae for volume and total
surface area
2. Running a tuck shop/canteen.
3. Cutting a circle into equal sections of a small central angle to find the area of a circle by
using the formula A = π × square of radius.
4. Conduct a survey of a group of students and represent it graphically - height, weight,
number of family members, pocket money, etc.

sections.’ Elaborate on the basis of a case study.
2. Discuss the art and architectural features of any of these monuments - Red Fort, Taj
Mahal, Jama Masjid, Brihadeswara temple, Tughlaq Fort

Geography

Prepare a Project on any ONE topic.

1. Draw a sketch of an area using various conventional symbols used for map reading.
2. PowerPoint Presentation on any one Natural Region of the World –
a) Tropical and temperate grasslands
b) Mediterranean region and Tropical deserts
3. Drawing and recognising forms of important contours viz. valleys, ridges, types of
slopes, conical hill, plateau, escarpment and sea cliff.

Economics (for students who have opted for Economics)

country.

2. Conduct a research on any industry and study how the output has been impacted post
Liberalisation.

Commercial Studies (for students who have opted for Commercial studies)
Choose any two of the following topics for your project.

1. Visit a 'Super Bazar' in your city and survey its origin, growth and working.
The research should include the following:
 The location of the Super Bazar - whether it is located in the main market or
outside it.
 The number of persons employed in the Super Bazar.
 How are the foods displayed?
 The number of items displayed.
 Does the Super Bazar offer credit and parking facilities?
 How do the customers pick up the goods and make payments?

2. Make a survey of two commercial organisations, one manufacturing and the other
providing some service. Record and compare their work, methods and functions.
3. Visit a cooperative society in your city. Find out its special features and activities. How
is it managed?
