MYP Criterion A: Inquiring and analysing Maximum 8 points


Introduction
In a few weeks we will start a project on endangered species and you will need to
find out about two endangered species and present information about them in
two formatted web pages.
What do I need to do for HWK 2 this week?
In a new Word document record the following:
1. Information about 2 animals that are endangered (look below for tips on
what to record)
2. (iv) Write about one animal at a time, to cover these points:
What are the names of the animals?
Explain WHERE are the animals found?
Explain WHY they are endangered? For example, predation, climate
change, habitat loss, deforestation etc

on:
(i) explains and justifies the need for a solution to
a problem
ii. constructs a research plan, which states and
prioritizes the primary and secondary research
needed to develop a solution to the problem
independently
(iii) analyses a group of similar products that inspire
a solution to the problem
(iv) presents the analysis of relevant research.

Explain how many animals remain or/and any statistics


3. Find some images of each animal. Show them in your research document
and include a link to the website where you found them.
Copy the image files to your account in school in a folder marked
Endangered Species WEB.
4. In the same document explain HOW and WHY a web site might be a good
medium (method) to show information about endangered species to many
people of YOUR age group (iii).
5. List the websites that you have used in your secondary research.
Analyse and write down features of these sites that you feel help to
promote awareness of animal endangerment (i) and (iii).
6. When you have read and completed the task, submit your Word document
to the Yr8 HWK 2 Edmodo turn in point.
