Introduction to Delhi

Delhi, which has a long history, is representative of a fast-modernizing nation and an

old culture. There is a lot to learn about in this monument-dotted area. The historical

landmarks of Delhi are exclusive to Delhi. Its lengthy history may be seen in the many

meticulously maintained structures, historic forts, and tombs that bear witness to the location

of several strong empires in the past. The most significant aspects of a contemporary

metropolis, such as a metro system, lively markets, and excellent restaurants, are blended

with all of this. The past and modern coexist together, incorporating centuries-old landmarks

into city life. The epic Mahabharata originates from the city's legend, which refers to

Indraprastha, the place where the Pandavas formerly resided (Guerrieri, 2018). Visiting Delhi

may honor this city that represents the nation's illustrious history and vibrant present. It is

appropriate that the capital city serves as the nation's window. The trip departs from Toronto,

Canada, arrives in Delhi on August 12, 2022, and ends on August 17, 2022.

Activities

The traveler will be escorted for sightseeing in an AC bus on Day 1 of their trip,

which falls on August 12, at 6 a.m. in Delhi. The indigenous cuisine and vibrant bazaars will

be among the sights to be seen. Delhi is renowned for its cuisine and street stores. The

tourists will experience Delhi’s native life first-hand.

On day two, visitors will be transported by air-conditioned bus to the city's

magnificent architectural sites, including the Red Fort, India Gate (a sandstone arch gate that

stands as a war memorial), and Qutub Minar. The start of Muslim dominance in India was at

Qutub Minar, the highest minaret in the country. The Red Fort was constructed to serve as

Shah Jahan of the Mughal Empire's residence.

In the “National Gallery of Modern Art," more than 2,300 artworks from the 13th

century to 1900 are housed there) and the Lotus Temple, which is the sole Bahai temple in

Asia and is notable for its flower-like form and lack of any god idols, will be visited by

travelers on day three.

The fourth day will be set aside for the travelers to spend the whole day admiring the

Taj Mahal. It is one of the "Seven Wonders of the World" and was created by the love of

Shah Jahan and his wife, Mumtaz. “Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal over Mumtaz's resting

grave.” (Sinha, 2021).

The Sheesh Mahal (The Glass Palace) will be investigated on day 5. Its true meaning

is Crystal Palace. It is a spot where a ruler was enthroned, a deadly fight for Delhi was

fought, a senior British commander lived in a huge mansion at the Mughal court, and an

invading army camped there.

The visitors' return trip from Delhi will start on day six. Then, on August 17, at 11

p.m., an AC bus will deliver them to the airport so they may catch their flights.

The package's overall price is $1,599, which covers meals (breakfast, lunch, and

dinner), hotel stays, flight tickets, and ground transportation.
