Job Satisfaction of primary Teachers in Government school of Raigad


District in relation to Social Environment and School management
ABSTRACT :
Primary teacher’s job is still noble job in society. It has social status
due to surety and security there is more satisfaction in accepting this job People
are more interested in accepting this job. This job is more bounded with society
and social environment. Primary teacher is treated as back bone of education
system. And also base founder creator of child’s education and future. Primary
teacher have to deal with school management and social environment . Actually
school management is not more dominating factor because in Government
school SMC (School Management committees are form by RTE-2009 rule for
Three years ) But both factors increase efficiency of Job satisfaction Each and
every person needs to express himself for that purpose he wants one plate form
such as social environment . After dealing with proper manner response of social
Environment and school management is more effective and co-operative.
Introduction :
Each and every person works to ends both meet. After completing
certain level or certain criteria of getting job person join in any job. Joining of job
or service has some certain criteria , While getting education child decides about
his or her future what he or she should be in future. Because he or she fills
satisfaction in performing or deciding in that job. So for this reason children
decide about his job in his childhood Because he feels satisfied in that job he may
feel surety, security ,pleasure etc. In education field there scope of primary
teacher, secondary teacher, college teacher as a job or service. Generally People’s
attitude is more to accept primary teacher’s job. There are more vaccencies in
primary school to perform as teacher After completing Diploma in education field
a person may join as a primary teacher’s job after recruitment procedure. In
government or Government aided school primary teacher’s job is considered as
more secure job Due to salary ,Security Surety, and many other factors . Job
satisfaction is how people feel about their job. It is one of the most important
influencing factor which influence on individual as well as whole organization. A
dissatisfied person can never perform their duty properly. The strength of any
organization system is largely depending on the quality and commitment of
satisfied person . for education field Teachers act as the heart of educational
process it plays a significant role in the achievement of quality, effectiveness and
realization of educational goals. Job satisfaction is about liking your jobs and
finding fulfillment in what you do. Job satisfaction is feeling of person happy or
unhappy .According to Gilmer(1996) “job satisfaction or dissatisfaction is a result
of various attitudes the person holds towards his job as well as life in general “
Teacher’s or person’s job satisfaction depends on many factors i.e. mental
condition ,social condition, physical condition ,personal concepts etc.
If we thinks about social concept then two main factors comes in front of us they
are social environment and school management.

Job Satisfaction :
Teachers job may be consider as Job but it merely consider as service In service
provider always try to provide better service by making experiments in his field. But this
experments is possible by help of others In education field Children’s education comes in front
of us for personality development student’s education plays vital role. And for this purpose
educator must be satisfied and effective in his job And job satisfaction affected by many aspects
. But my concern it is more social environment and school management .
Locke(1996) defined Job satisfaction as pleasurable or positive emotional stage resulting from
the appraisal of one’s job experiences .
Dewis & Lofquist (1984) ‘ As a result of worker’s appraisal of the degree to which the work
experiments fulfil his individual needs Porter (1975) Job satisfaction one’s reaction against
his /her occupation or organization . In general it can be said that Job satisfaction is an effective
reaction to a Job. Job satisfaction means person’s attitude in balancing factors viz. likes ,dislikes,
condition tackling etc.
Happock (1935) : Job satisfaction is combination of psychological and environmental
circumstances that causes a person truthfully to say I am satisfied with my Job .
Social Environment :
Teaching is a service rendered by person called teacher to a student or
child which is a part of society. Child is concern with society But social environment not only
consist of colleagues , co-worker, supervision team, and all other education related teams.
Milieu” redirects here “The social environment , social context sociocultural context or Milieo
refers to the immediate physical and social setting in which people like or in which something
happens or develops. It includes the culture that the individual was educated or lives in and the
people and institutions with whom they interest. The interaction may be in person or through
communication media. Even anonymous or one way. And may not imply quality of social status.
The social environment is broader concept than that of social class or social circle. The physical
and social environment is a determining factor in active and healthy aging in place, being a
central factor .
School Management :
The word manage means to hold or to control something Management
means a community or body which hold something properly and run accordingly or smoothly

Management can be defined as a process of getting the work or the task done that is
required for achieving the goals of an organisation in an efficient and effective manner.
Or way . Process implies the functions of the management. That is, planning, organising,
staffing, directing and controlling. An organizations need effective management to achieve
its certain goals. There are different levels of management that aim to organise and
coordinate that certain organization. The purpose of management is to unify the efforts of
different individuals in an organization towards achieving a certain common goal.
Management involves in raising goodwill of an organization. Management plays vital role
in smooth functioning of various aspects. i.e. recruitment, functioning, work load etc. For
better understanding we refer some definition of Management –

Henri Fayol (1841–1925) stated: "to manage is to forecast and to plan, to organise, to command, to
co-ordinate and to control."[9]
Fredmund Malik (1944– ) defines management as "the transformation of resources into utility".

Management is included as one of the factors of production – along with machines, materials and
money. Ghislain
Deslandes defines management as "a vulnerable force, under pressure to achieve results and
endowed with the triple power of constraint, imitation and imagination, operating on
subjective, interpersonal, institutional and environmental levels".
Peter Drucker (1909–2005) saw the basic task of management as
twofold: marketing and innovation. Nevertheless, innovation is also linked to marketing (product
innovation is a central strategic marketing issue) Drucker identifies marketing as a key essence for
business success, but management and marketing are generally understood [by whom?] as two different
branches of business administration knowledge.
Management perform following functions

1. planning (forecasting)
2. organizing
3. commanding
4. coordinating
5. controlling
School management Is not more different because School also is an organization so there must
be any management body to carry out various function important for smooth flow of work.
Earlier before there was Gram shikshan samiti to perform school work on village level but after
implementation of RTE-2009 according to section 29 and 31 Each and every Government and
Government aided school must establish School Management Committee(SMC) for smooth
functioning of primary school. This committee form through parents of children studying in
school. The members helps school in students progress and help in taking decision. The SMC is
very co0operative in nature due to this Job satisfaction of teacher is more in primary school
According to Balavant Ray Mehta committee Zilla Parishad has been established for smooth
working It is called as Local body authority. Management of Local body is as follows

But For Smooth functioning According to RTE – 2009 SMC has main role

OBJECTIVE :
1) To find out level of Job satisfaction among primary teachers
2) To find out corelation between Job satisfaction and social environment
3) To find out co elation between Job satisfaction and school management
committee
4) To study increase in effectiveness of primary teacher due to job satisfaction
