PTAC

When I joined the PTAC meeting in March to discuss ongoing situations at Windsor
High. The situations that were covered during the meeting were Racism, Female treatment, and
a complex curriculum decision. I advocated and provided a solution for Challenge Day for
opening up the minds of the students. Challenge Day is a program that allows students, staff,
and parents to have a safe space to understand more about each other. In reality, we only see
10% of a person on appearance and experiences. However, Challenge Day allows participants
to see the other 90% of a person. There is more to this program but I advocated for the students
to try this out to get an idea of there is more to a person than rumors, appearances, activities,
and more.

Staff Appreciation/Student Spirit Gear ‘

I tried to collaborate with the principal to work on an award for staff appreciation and
student spirit traditions. I provided Ideas however they did not get to put into action because of
budget. The students would have wizard wands for games for the spirit. Teachers would have a
wizard wand or hat to be awarded for outstanding staff for the month.
