Purpose of the position

b. What will happen if there is no one in the position (no one performs the work)?
Software V&V lead shall conceptualize the validation strategy for software at ECU, domain and
vehicle level, continuously upgrade infrastructure, and competencies, lead the validation team to
execute software validation for the entire range of Tata Motors Passenger vehicles.

Relevant Experience:
1) 15+ years of experience in the field of software V&V for various Automotive E&E domains like
ADAS, Power Train, Brakes, Steering, Telematics, Infotainment, Body Electronics etc..
2) Knowledge of Automotive V cycle, Different software validation strategies (VIL, FVS, Labcar HIL,
SIL, MIL etc..)
3) Hands on working in HIL system design, development and configuration including domains like
ADAS, Brakes, Power Train.
4) Closed loop commissioning of various domain HILs including model configuration.
5) Good knowledge of system behaviour (E.g. Power Train, Transmission, Steering, ADAS etc..)
6) Knowledge on SDLC, Agile and CI/CD process.
7) Knowledge of Co-Simulation process and tools, knowledge on soft ECUs
8) Hands on experience in Modelling, automation and scripting tools and languages. (Eg.
Matlab/Simulink, Provetech TA, ECU Test, Python, CAPL, DSPACE/Vector/NI/IPG test
management/vehicle dynamics/scenario creation and simulation tools, JIRA)
9) Knowledge of Automotive EE Architecture, Function portioning and EE Hardware.
10) Strong knowledge of EE communication protocols like CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, Flexyray, LIN and
hands on experience in network monitoring, simulation and validation tools.
11) Knowledge on diagnostic protocols like UDS on CAN, DOIP etc..
12) Knowledge of Data Analytics and AI/ML to optimise the validation and develop inference from
large data.
13) Experience of at least 2 full software validation cycle
14) Experience of team management

2 Develop Capability: Meeting Targets in the BSC
• Create short and medium term engineering capability
plans to achieve functional objectives
• Formulate validation strategy to enable early-stage
validation and enhance coverage, productivity and
quality.
• Formulate guidelines and best practices for software
validation based on the learnings from the projects (TGR
& TGW).
• Create & update DVPs and test standards.
3 Product Development
• Tracking of software development, testing & validation • Support delivery of the
of Full Vehicle and sub-systems aggregates as per the project
• Review progress of software validation and resolve timeline, within the defined
critical issues timeline and quality targets
• Implement best practices to find and solve problems in
the project.
• Support VAVE for their aggregates as per the yearly
targets, through POCs and validation.
• Support in resolution of issues reported from Proto,
Manufacturing line and field through Simulation
