Human work is essentially designed to get us to value man’s dignity at work rather than
work itself. In today’s world, the emergence of technology has made us overlook these
values to the point where it just focuses on the end result and overall productivity instead of
the morale and dignity of those behind it are the workers themselves. Workers are being
dehumanized since productivity and technology go hand in hand. The importance of
workers’ rest, working conditions, and rights regarding labor which constitutes dignity is one
of the most important teachings when it comes to human work. Many rich countries that
have high migration rate due to job opportunities are more likely to be prone to labor
exploitation like work contracts. Authorities on the other hand, have the ability to take legal
action against employers or agencies that played part in any type of exploitation.
Implementing laws with regards to work and labor is nothing without the thought of
“common good” which is the final goal in every work. To provide help to those who are in
need by working not just for self but for the common good

Based on my understanding, I think one of the problems is civic education. Education on the
constitution should be one of the main focuses where it explains how a democratic system
works. Subsequently, civic rights should be taught early so that youth can fully utilize their
rights to abolish the mindset of " tumahimik ka nalang at wag mag reklamo." Moreover, the
cultural tendency of favoring debt of gratitude over the future development of the nation
tends to perpetuate patronage politics that hinders reforms that could have been done
before. Furthermore, voters tend to use their vote for someone that gives them money or
any form of vote buying that will not be beneficial in the long run. Lastly, there should be
institutional changes when it comes to patronage politics that cause political dynasties.
