1. What is emotional intelligence? Provide examples.

Emotional intelligence simply means how we handle, manage, lead ourselves and our
relationship with others.

In other words, it is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in
positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others,
overcome challenges and defuse conflict.

You can develop stronger relationships, perform well at work and school, and reach your
professional and personal objectives with the aid of emotional intelligence. Also, it can
assist you in establishing a connection with your emotions, putting your intentions into
practice, and choosing what is most important to you.

Example:

a) An emotionally savvy person might listen to angry music before to requesting a wage
increase because feeling angry aids in negotiation.

PESTLE analysis is useful for an organization since it can be used in range of different
scenarios and guide people professional and senior managers in strategic decision
making.

3. How would you Develop a plan for identifying and responding to a range of emotional
expressions?

Emotional expression is the ability to communicate your feelings to others. Even if you
may have good and terrible days occasionally, your emotional intelligence may indicate
that you are overdoing the downs and pulling other people down with you. Alternately,
doing the opposite and exaggerating the good days can aggravate others who are
experiencing a poor day.

There are certain things to consider to develop a plan for identifying and responding to a
range of emotional expressions such includes:

a) Observation - It's always beneficial to watch how other people handle and
communicate their emotions. Ask these questions to yourself and a few other people.
It is usually preferable to watch a few people rather than just one since you will
receive a more comprehensive picture.

b) Self-coaching – ensure how people react to you in general and coach yourself for
improvements.

c) Thinking and Reflection

d) Practice observing how you feel

e) Pay attention to how you behave

f) Ask questions of your own opinions
