Good day to each and everyone of you, and I will tackle what is Noli me tangere all about.

So, u guys
already have a background knowledge abt Noli me tangere from what the previous reporters have
talked about and I am sure that it was also discussed during your jhs and shs years, right?

So for more information, u guys already have a knowledge abt the basics of noli but I would like to add
that Jose Rizal wrote the first sections of his novel Noli Me Tangere in 1884 in Madrid, Spain when he
was still studying medicine. Rizal continued with this novel in Paris, France after he finished his medicine
course. And aside from what we know that the translation of noli me tangere is touch me not, rizal also
said that it means “matters so delicate that they cannot be touched by everybody”. Do u guys have any
idea why so? Please do take note of this question as we’ll go back again to answer that once we
elaborate more what is noli all about.

So noli me tangere is a novel written by Filipino writer José Rizal. On the first bullet, it says that it is
abt the Spanish colonization here in our country. That’s because rizal wrote this novel during the
pananakop satin ng mga kastila. Through this novel, pinakita niya how Spaniards treated us during his
time. In the novel, they are treating us so low, Majority of the Spaniard friars discriminated the Filipinos
by treating us as slaves. This shows the sufferings of our countrymen with the friars as our rulers.

The next one is that this is to defend us from foreigners who lacks knowledge abt us. This novel is not
just abt telling us history because it also shows our traditions and our traits, especially yung mga positive
sides natin. Foreigners portray Filipino's as illiterate, stupid and easy to manipulate tapos with this
novel, pinakita ni rizal na despite our status, there are filipinos who are matalino enough para makita
yung mga mali na ginagawa satin ng mga ibang lahi. It was also shown what we can do just for the sake
of our loved ones like the paghihintay of maria clara for Ibarra nang sobrang tagal.

The last part is that this poem also shows the how bulok the said false government noon Because
Spanish friars and the Spanish colonial government had such control over the Philippines, he focused
much of his attention on the possibility of political change. Pinakita niya yon by outlining two schools of
thought for making political change: the moderate liberalism embodied by Ibarra, and the radical
revolutionary ideology espoused by Elías.

Okay so to alog your memories abt the story of noli me tangere, I will sum it up for u guys. The novel
begins with the return of Crisostomo Ibarra, after 7 years ng pag aaral sa ibang bansa. habang wala siya
sa bansa, his father Don Rafael Ibarra has been jailed for the accidental death of Spanish tax collector in
his defense of a young boy being brutalized by this illiterate official. Madaming inakusa sa kaniya at
doon na siya namatay sa kulungan. Father Damase, the Parish priest of San Diego, denied him Christian
burial and ordered his corpse na alisin from the cemetery where it had been buried. The Governor-
general then learned about what the Parish priest did and demanded that he be punished for what he
did. No discipline was imposed on Father Damaso. Instead, he was just transfered to another pueblo by
his superior. Until this time, wala paring alam si Ibarra. A dinner was tendered for Ibarra by Kapitan
Tiago, the father of Maria Clara. At the welcome dinner, Ibarra was praised and commended by all the
guests for his educational achievement in Europe, except by Father Damaso. Tapos non, after ng dinner
accidentally, he met Lieutenant Guevarra on the way and learned from him the sad story of his father.
As a loyal Spaniard, the thought of avenging his father's death didn't come to his mind. Instead, he
dedicated himself in the pursuit of his fathers ideas of educating the people of San Diego Ibarra secured
permission for the erection of a modern school building. The cornerstone of the school building was laid
out during the celebration of the town fiesta, Ibarra was nearly killed by the sudden collapse of the
derrick Appearing quickly on the scene he was rescued by Elias, a boat pilot who saved by Ibarra during
excursion. Yung nangyari is pinlano talaga nila padre damaso at padre salvi, the friar who was madly in
love by Maria Clara.

Later during the day, a banquet was held at Kapitan Tiago's residence. Minaliit at ininsulto ni padre
damaso yung tatay ni barra and of course, he stood up and mocked the friar to the ground. Ibarra was
excommunicated for laying his hands on the parish priest. Dahil sa nangyari, pinagbawalan na rin ni
kapitan tiago si maria clara na makipagkitaat usap kay ibara. The ex-communication of ibarra, however,
was soon lifted. At dahil hindi nagtagumpay si padre damaso in having Ibarra excommunicated. Fr. Salvi
organized a rebellion among the poor, discontented people of San Diego and those who were victimized
by the guardia civil. Pinaniwala sila na si Ibarra ang leader or mastermind ng nangyari. Later on, Fr. Salvi
disclosed the plan to the guardia civil. The rebellion was crushed. An immediate aftermath of the
crushed rebellion was the arrest and imprisonment of those who offended the friar and those who
espoused the liberal ideas in San Diego. Isa sa mga nakulong ay si ibara, pero nakatakas siya with the
help of elias. bago umalis ng San Diego, Ibarra proceeded to the house of Kap. Para magpaalam kay
maria clara. After bidding Ma. Clara goodbye, Elias and Ibarra proceeded sa bangka at Pasig River toward
the Laguna Bay. This time, hinabol sila ng gwardia sibil. Nagawan ni ibara na makatakas habang si Elias,
ay nabaril. Thinking that they succeeded in killing ibara, the guardia civil then returned to Manila.
Although seriously wounded, Elias was able to reach shore and inched his way in the woods where he
saw Basilio weeping over the dead body of his mother, Sisa. Elias instructed Basilio to prepare the
funeral for the burning of his mother's dead body and that of Elias

The new day, newspapers reported the death of Crisostomo ibara. Learning what happend to his
beloved Ibarra, Maria Clara refused to marry Linares a young Spaniard chosen by Fr. Damas Instead, she
told Father damaso of her intention in entering nunnery of Sta Clara. The novel ended with Maria Clara
of the roof of the nunnery, praying for her deliverance.

At doon natatapos ang nobela. So by ending this part of mine, I wuld like you guys to reflect on what
happened on the novel and alalahanin niyo kung ano ung sinabi ko nong una abt the meaning of touch
me not. That is all, thank you.
